Great Way To Start the Day

I love starting the day listening to an episode of Modern Love. I’ll leave it in while I get ready for work. It’s a small reminder that we are all human capable of love.

Too many ads for too short of a podcast

Why does this run for a minute after the clock runs out? And it’s always during the ads that I can’t skip past.

Racist itself

Out of how many million people in the US snd you could not find a Jamaican to tell this episode? Very disappointed in your presentation. You really need to rethink what you are doing, not giving someone new a chance and Alicia Keyes one more feather in her cap? She should have turned it down. And the inflection / writing made it sound as if white lesbians had it easy, not once saying it is the blacks and other immigrants of color that are racist to them.

Love this podcast/ but why are they recycling old episodes now?

I love this podcast. When they actually air new stories. I must admit, I get pretty frustrated when they just recycle an old story with a new celebrity to read it. I look forward to a new story each week. I am always bummed when it’s the same story i’ve already heard before. Nonetheless, still a great podcast!

Time Issue

I like the podcast, but echo another review regarding the time issue. Something is off with the time stamp that causes the podcast audio to run much longer than advertised, making it impossible to fast forward to the end.

Runs past time

The podcast is great, but it’s very frustrating that the timer hits 0 and I swear it goes on from anywhere between 20 seconds and 5 minutes. Then when you try to fast forward or rewind, it goes back to the 0:00 spot. Please please fix this issue!

Beautiful

One of my new favorite things to do is take a long walk and listen to several episodes of Modern Love. A few of the articles have really struck a chord in me. They have made me stop to reflect on the true love stories of my own life and how grateful I really am to have them and how truly essential they are to the person I am today. That’s the point of the whole Modern Love column, I believe, and it delivers! Listen if you feel like a catching a case of the feels 😭❤️

Favorite podcast, worth listening

When I started listening to this podcast I didn’t know that it as column in the New York Times. I don’t remember the first episode I listened to but I do remember a lot of the stories. The podcast always makes me feel hopeful even when it is a sad story. There is always something good. It may be a love story between partners, family, friends and sometimes just love for something or more importantly love for yourself. I think most of the stories are fascinating and hearing them read by actors is just icing on the cake.

One of my favorites

The beauty of this is in the writing. The screen adaptations are for me watered down altered and uncomfortably interpreted versions. This is how I feel about books being turned into movies in general, so I might be a bit biased. Started watching the amazon series and CRINGED. Untouched writing gives the listener/reader a true lens into the psyche of the narrator. Screen adaptations create their own nuances and feel like cheap thrills comparatively. Sometimes you gotta leave good enough alone. But for all those non podcast listeners/readers, welcome to “Modern Love.” Just know that the originals are far better. Oh and the Anne Hathaway dancing scenes? I love her as an actor, but I just couldn’t stomach it.

Good podcast, out-of-touch ads

I wish I were rich (or reckless) enough to snap my phone every time the NYDJ promoters say the words “lift” and “tuck” into my ears. It’s a good podcast with ads that make me almost stop listening every time I hear them.
