Managing expectations for KP
Love this podcast! I’m a season ticket holder and when I go to the games with my dad and brother they get a kick out of how I can spew out random facts about the team I get from this show. Tbh at the beginning of the year I was more excited about Porzingis playing than I was about Luka playing. I think it has something to do with the void from Dirks absence. Who will always be my favorite Mav. It’s been hard watching him struggle this season. Do you think eventually Porzingis could become a bigger scoring threat on this team than Luka currently is? Do you think that Mavs fans need to check their expectations of him, and not see him as the natural heir to Dirk’s legacy?P. S. Y’all cool if we bring back the green Diddy unis?

Once I heard Nick profess that he identified, quote - “professionally, a Mavs fan...personally, a Lakers supporter [edit: traitor]”, I was immediately overcome with a crushing wave of disappointment. I had to pause and gather my thoughts before continuing to listen. During my rumination I could feel the pain of separation that transpired on Mustafar between those two fateful brothers of the Force.I wish I could help you Nicholas. You are lost. Failed you, I have.

I have listened to this podcast since the Mavs drafting Luka and (almost) every pod since February. Great podcast that fills me in about the Mavs since I can only watch ~10 games/year.Question: Do you think Luka 1) would of been an all-star in the east last year?2) will be an all-star in the west this year?Update 12/6/19: I’m pretty proud to say that this podcast was my top-listened to podcast of 2019, per Spotify’s yearly review. I wish there was a way to rate this podcast on Spotify, since that’s where I listen. If I can, I’d like to ask another question for Nick and Isaac. What are your favorite shoes of all time? (I’m a big sneakerhead)

Luka is getting lots of talk as an MVP candidate, but I haven’t heard his name in any Most Improved Player discussions. With his obvious improvement in all statistical categories, could he win MOP?

Hey guys Tyler here huge fan y’all are a great pairing hopefully Luka and Kp by playoff time are as good of a duo as you two my question Is where would you rank Mavs against others western conference playoff contenders and as of today they’re on pace for 57/58 wins I think they’ll finish anywhere between 48-52 just wanted to get y’all input..... PEACE OUT!

Love listening to you guys on my commutes to work. You keep me level on the day after losses, and help me keep the warm fuzzy feels the day after wins. Question - what is up with all the pregame play fighting? I find it cute but I also don’t understand the origin; I’ve seen other teams doing it too but cant figure it out. Thanks!
Reviewed on Apple PodcastsPart of my daily routine
Welcome,You are locked on to my review of the Locked On Mavericks Podcast. The dynamic between Nick and Isaac always keeps things fresh and intriguing. I’ve been listening to these guys every day for about two years now and they never get old.To my knowledge, it’s the only daily Dallas Mavericks podcast around and it constantly comes up with new content to keep listeners interested. Even when one of the hosts is unable to do a show, they always find someone else that is credible to fill their spot (S/O Jimmy). Nick and Isaac’s dedication to this podcast is unrivaled. I honestly don’t know what I would do if this podcast seized. My life would be incomplete without Fiery Isaac and his hatred for D Wade. Alright Isaac, my question is: Do you think Luka will ever change numbers? Will it get to a point that he just keeps 77 for the rest of his career if Dwight sticks around for a long enough time? I was surprised that he didn’t work out a deal to get No. 7 from day one. Keep killin’ it you guys. Peace out. Boom.
Reviewed on Apple PodcastsDelon Wright is really good
What is it a blessing in disguise that we got Delon Wright after missing out on Patrick Beverley? Delon has amazing hands/instincts on defense, better shooter this season, better facilitator, and better finisher around the rim. Delon has greater or equal stats in practically every category in 7 less mins per game. Other than rebounding, on-ball defense, and “dawg”, is Pat Bev better at anything? Am I crazy to say that Delon > PatBev?!?!

Been a Mavs fan since the triple J’s but just got into the Podcast side of fandom this last off-season. The natural back and forth banter between Isaac and Nick makes this podcast the most entertaining of all Mavs-centric pods. Anyways, it took me a while to rate due to my uncertainty of what type of question I wanted to ask. I finally figured what it is! Guys, what is the tattoo on Luka’s back shoulder?!? I need a definitive answer!!!
Reviewed on Apple PodcastsMavs a playoff team, maybe 4 seed
Ok, I guess my Simmons take was as cold as the Colorado temps that produce the snowstorms I like to ski, hence the name powderhound901. Here’s another one, mavs will go 500 or better against nugs, Rockets, 6ers, raptors, even will be able to put out a long lineup to stop Giannis. But they will continue to lose to the Celtics and Lakers, and definitely lose to the Clippers, because these teams have wings that are solid on O and D.

I’ve been listening to Locked On as a Day One and in fact followed Nick here from his previous Mavs podcast. Both Nick and Isaac have such a great chemistry and come at Mavs fandom from different perspectives, resulting in one of the most fairly objective homer casts in the league. This is a podcast that gets fired up just as the coffee is ready every morning, and never feels like a podcast so much as it feels like hanging out with friends talking about out favourite team. And the more i think about Luka Doncic, the more it feels like the a Mavs were only arbor to acquire him because they reset the gaming console 18x and then set the trade rules to override so that Luka could be available at 5. Right now, what starting position is in the most dire need of an upgrade, and would you sacrifice the current bench pieces to do the upgrade? PS. There is the Racoon Swuad and the Day Ones; but there needs to be a term for Pre Day Ones. Like BC, could it be BLO? Peace Out, Boom!

Thanks for all the hard work you guys! Very fun podcast! Question: Besides your own and Bill Simmons podcast, what other podcasts should mavs fans be listening to?

Thank you Nick and Isaac for the amazing job you guys do for Locked on Mavs best NBA related podcast duo. My question is due to Luka’s success early into his career and already receiving MVP considerations at what point does Dwight Powell give up number 7 to Luka? Or does Powell have to be traded for that to happen? It doesn’t seem like a big deal but Dallas Mavericks YouTube posted a video today and the question was brought up on why he chose 77 and simply said that 7 wasn’t available which to me sounds like he wants it eventually. Again thank you Nick and Isaac stay solid.

Mavs’ 2020 Free Agency board reads: 2011-12 Deron Williams 2012-13 Dwight Howard 2015-16 Hassan Whiteside Based strictly on their careers up until they whiffed on the Mavs, who would y’all sign to be the 3rd piece with Luka & KP?

I don’t know about you guys, but I can’t freaking wait for Luka and KP duel press conferences after playoff games. I’ve been with y’all since day one and I remember listening to two guys talk about how The Mavs just drafted Dennis Smith Jr and how the future was so bright. Crazy to think we’re in this spot right now with Luka and KP. How do you guys expect your careers to grow with the Mavs having more success in the future? Does it change anything?Growth of podcast, etc. Thanks guys!

This show can be very good, and was fantastic when the hosts saw themselves as fans talking basketball, but they are becoming like too many sports hosts who talk down to listeners and laugh about it, like they need to win some battle.
Reviewed on Apple PodcastsAsking Rick Questions
This is a question more for Isaac but do you ever get nervous asking Rick questions for post game in the fear of him making fun of your or calling yo out for a dumb question? Especially after a tough loss?

Do you think it could be a good idea to get some experienced player to calm the team on the floor? I think about Marc Gasol, he also can shoot. Thanks
