The Potential Was Great

Back when this was just Joe and Amad (forgive any misspelling), years ago, it was a silly and sometimes informative political podcast. Amad moved to New York, and the show went into hibernation for awhile. It came back, and it was a beer hall political discussion podcast. I don’t doubt the bona fides of any of them, but it was pretty difficult to listen to. It was just one big mish-mash of stories, topics, guests, and rants. They threw a woman into the mix a little later on, but it didn’t help a thing. The opinions were HIGHLY inconsistent (even their own personal opinions, which is fine, but they’d flop within the same discussion - I blame the alcohol.) They’d take twenty minutes taking someone apart, and then tell you to vote for that very same person. The inconsistency of messaging was appalling, considering pretty much all of them have worked/are working campaigns and know exactly how important consistency of message is. In the end, it was quite painful to listen to. A new episode hasn’t come out in a couple of months now, and I’m hoping for another revamping. I’ve unsubscribed to this almost a year ago, but will happily come back if Joe can pull it back together into a cohesive Texas Democratic politics podcast.

Texas Beer and Texas Politics

Cold beer and hot takes! Not too wonky, mostly high level happenings with some context for folks not working in the world's dirtiest contact sport.
