My Daily Go-To

I always look forward to this podcast each and every week. The substance is both engaging and stretches my mind — Sam’s gravitas is calming in a chaotic world.I got started late but I enjoy this podcast so much that gone back to the beginning and each and every episode remains relevant. My only caveat? I miss the weekly “Long Distance” segments on the more recent Weekly Wraps.

Love the Pod, Hate the glitch

That glitch where Planet Money is downloading alongside Sam’s awesome pod is still wreaking havoc on my pod stream! What do we need to do to get this fixed????

One of my weekly must listen podcasts!

With so many (!) podcast options, the Friday episodes of this show are among my few weekly ‘must listen’ shows. Fun guests, fun conversation, always fascinating, and I always learn something new. Sam also does a great job of quietly bringing in a diverse panel of guests and topics and I love it. Keep up the good work!

Not for baby boomers

I enjoyed this podcast for the last year. I especially loved the outro of listeners’ best moments of the week. So uplifting! But the slam against Baby Boomers this week gave me pause. It hurt my heart. This podcast was so upbeat. You never hurt anyone.I was born in 1960.

Love the show

Love this show so much. Miss the music intros. Usually provided a bit of timely pop culture info. P.S. This show is occasionally deleted from my apple podcast app and replaced with Planet Money...what’s with that?

Great Guests

Sam is able to invite and book great guests. That’s what pulls me in every time I listen. Why just a 3 star rating? Well, Sam interrupts too much and inserts himself into the interviewees answer. He hurries guests along to get to his next question. I’m currently listening to the John Legend interview. You can tell when he’s ready to move on because he starts saying “ok,” “yeah,” “uhu,” etc more frequently until John stops talking then he pounces on his next question or thought. It rushes the end of the answer. He also assumes he knows the answers to the questions he’s asking. Instead of asking open ended questions, he asks targeted, almost leading questions. Sure it’s Sam’s show, but is the show supposed to be about Sam or about the guests and topics he brings in? Idk, it’s not my favorite podcast. Sometimes I like it and sometimes I just have to shut it off.

Culture, Politics, and All that jazz

Sam's interviews are just the best, especially evidenced by the most recent with Malcolm Gladwell and JVN. I appreciate Sam's ability to play lighthearted, empathetic, and realistic narrator as the vibe requires. Well done all around and many thanks for the context your bring to what is happening in the world around us.

Love Sam, hate the feed

Sam Sanders is an insightful and compassionate interviewer—truly a delight to listen to. Five stars, minus one for the janky podcast feed (which is truthfully generous)— at least twice a week my phone downloads 30+ back episodes of this and/or planet money (which I don’t subscribe to). Get it together NPR, this has been going on for months. It’s a testament to how great this show is that I haven’t just unsubscribed

Weekly news updates and so much joy

I listen to a lot of podcast but I get excited to listen to this one and cry every week. I love the views of Sam and all the guests, and of course Aunt Betty.
