Could be so much better

The Hive has an occasional gem of an episode but they are lost among those that do not stay on topic a lot of the time. I had been considering dropping this 'cast for a while, but it was the most recent episode "Is It Possible to Get Trump Out of Your Head?" that made the decision for me to drop the 'cast.Guest Dylan Byers had some interesting points to bring up about views on Bloomberg and billionaires. However, when the episode devolved into just bashing entertainment, the tone of the podcast really changed to something extremely negative. Presenting subjective views on their tastes with TV shows and movies as objective fact that there is nothing but "trash" on the air just struck a really negative chord that frankly surprised me. I had hoped for a more nuanced look at the topic of entertainment and streaming services, but the negative tone of this 'cast has soured me on the podcast as a whole.

Not good

This podcast is for upper-middle class, college educated, centrist liberals who don’t care about economic inequality, don’t want their taxes raised, and their politics don’t extend much beyond hating Trump. If that’s you, congrats. If you’re a leftist, you will hate this.

Witty, insightful news and analysis

I subscribe to a lot of podcasts, but this is one of the only ones I *must* listen to every week. I worked in newsrooms for 15 years, but now work from home — and this podcast has everything I miss about being in a newsroom (except maybe the deadlines). It’s like getting the news from a friend, if your friend was a dry-witty-but-super-cynical veteran journalist and author.

Insightful and delightful - Nick is a treasure

Wish more people listen to this wonderful podcast. Nick is thoughtful and always gets very interesting guests. A friend recommended this to me and I’m so grateful for the suggestion, a must-listen every week.

Fun & Informative, mostly.

Highly recommend Nick’s podcast. When subject matter seems dull or otherwise lacking in interest, I simply delete that week’s show. I find Nick’s weekly Trump moan to be funny. I feel you Nick. Worth keeping in your top 10.

Strays from subject matter

Vanity fair is one of my favorite publications so I was super excited to come across the podcast. I got halfway through one episode on Jeffrey Epstein but it was around 40% about Jeffrey Epstein and 60% adults powwowing about films, their children, and extremely irrelevant subject matter that no one else cares about. So disappointing I couldn’t even finish it.

Favorite Podcast

Love this podcast! Great guests. Great questions and conversations. The only down side is the number of books I have bought after listening to guests. So Much to read and not enough time

Amateur Hour

Not sure how this guy has a podcast affiliated with a publication I have generally considered reputable and relevant. Whiny. Fairly uninformed. And his “expert” guest for political issues is a little too sure of herself, hubristic, and smug. I’ve listened to several episodes now and really wanted to enjoy this, but it has now been largely relegated to a last resort, and mostly as background noise at that. Disappointing for sure.

Great potential

I subscribed originally because of the great journalism of the reporter regarding Cohen and Trump. However the ongoing host is obnoxious. Can’t do it.

Cocaine Mitch

Mitch McConnell’s father in law is a wealthy Chinese shipper. One of his ships was busted in the US with 90 pounds of cocaine on it hence the moniker. Love the pod, guests, and Nick. Rock on!

Ugh! The epitomy of why I am also canceling my subscription to Vanity Fair

Where do I start? Do I start with Vanity Fair which wouldn’t know how to lay out a magazine if their life depended on it, let alone write anything interesting. Or just cut to the chase with this podcast. Ignorant guests like this one girl who seemed very well spoken and then she said she believed in aliens. I thought well this must be a joke but they never hit the punchline on that one. I couldn’t believe what I was hearing and then today rationalizing the fact that Trump is just maybe the way democracy works! No that’s how fascism works! The Emperor Wears No Clothes and this joker on the Hive is very sad and broken just like the rest of Vanity Fair. Unsubscribed. Bye-bye to my dozens of years of Vanity Fair. I will miss what you WERE. Classy.

Pathetic

Your attempt to push pathetic lies blended w/minimal truth is & has been transparent from the get-go. Give people more credit for knowing when someone’s trying to manipulate them & not having any of it. You lose, again!

How disappointing

I was Really looking forward to this podcast. However, the first episode I tried was talking about how anyone lives concert but it must be racist and anti-immigrant, etc. etc. I don’t want to listen to this garbage.
