Congrats!

Congrats to Ikhlas & the new family addition & for the return of Identity Politics! I really do enjoy and appreciate this podcast not just as a male of color but also as a convert who found this podcast as a need to find answers & a community & an openness/transparency that doesn’t initially appear in convos/within the ummah. Thank you!

This Black Muslim convert loves y’all

I converted in high school (😧) and have struggled find some sense of community, as I travel from place to place every few years. Especially a community of ppl that also look like me. So many spaces are unconsciously unwelcoming and hostile to us and I can honestly say this podcast has been a constant(-ish lol) sense of sisterhood for me.I absolutely LOVE y’all. What you’re doing is truly a gift from Allah swt thru you all, to all of us. Thank you!

So relatable!

You two know what kinds of questions young Muslims are thinking about and you thoughtfully use your platform to talk about them in a way that encourages listeners to think more deeply about them too. I appreciate so much that you both are Black Muslim women who bring in your tremendously valuable perspectives on different issues - all of which help me learn more about Black and African-American Muslims and give me the vocabulary to spread the knowledge to family and friends. Every time I learn something I didn’t know about African-American Muslims, I appreciate my African-American sisters and brothers even more for their trust in God, their welcoming and loving arms, and constant perseverance. Keep up your amazing podcast please!

Thank you!

I started listening to your podcast on the recommendation of a friend after I told her I’m not listening to music for Ramadan. This has been such a blessing! You are both so thoughtful, smart, and have totally mastered the balance between vulnerability and letting people all up in your business. I’ve been totally binge listening, if that’s a thing. I feel so seen. Thank you and May Allah swt bless you both and your families

Incredible conversations & topics you’ll talk about

Listening to this podcast feels like listening to an effortless chat between two friends, but it’s clear much effort goes into it. Each episode is a carefully crafted conversation about any mix of the following; race, gender, Islam, pop culture and politics. Nearly every episode topic is something I continue to think of throughout the week and often end up discussing with my own friends.
