Human, thoughtful, and thought-provoking
'Hurry Slowly' beams thoughtfully-crafted nuggets of wisdom to my ears, and often seem custom-tailored just for me—though each episode likely resonates with a large audience of creative and entrepreneurial-minded people. There is a personal, in-the-same-room quality to the podcast—and a poetic intro and outro that helps contextualize the 1-to-1 interviews in each episode, and connects them to the broader themes of the show: reframing creative work, awareness, building a sustainable approach to life/work balance, etc.I read Jocelyn's book 'Unsubscribe' a little while before Hurry Slowly's first episode was published. The ideas she articulated in that book helped rethink my approach to email and communication. On a larger level, the thinking she offered motivated me to consider more sustainable—and human—ways to be out there in the world as a creative professional. Tackling email was like 'flossing one tooth'—and rose my awareness about the possibilities out there for doing the work I care about, while being conscious of avoiding creative burnout.
