Good for a specific audience

If you are a man who was groomed to be a money-maker and lives in an affordable part of the country, you will love this podcast and it will change your life! Everyone else will feel like you’re in the room but no one is talking to you. I think the hosts are good people who absolutely mean well and give excellent advice to people like them.

This podcast is helping me change my life.

Without casually listening to this podcast to try to feel like an adult, I would have never been exposed to the spark that has lit my financial freedom flame. The tips in this podcast have helped me feel confident in approaching debt, making investments, and learning about how I can add more income streams into my life. Not to mention, these guys have awesome taste in beer! Cheers to you, Joel and Matt! 🍻

Financial Illiterate? Search No More

I started off like any other college student would with finances - visiting a cool canopy with flashy signs, cool swag and tremendous “support” when applying for my first credit card on campus. Not fully aware of how finances and credit scores work, I worked my way up to a steep mountain of debt and I did what anyone else would .. pay the minimum and keep on partying. After college, I found a good job but still struggled with debt. I recently moved from Miami, FL to Atlanta, GA and decided to really take control of my finances and found your podcast. You two have truly helped me gain knowledge of how credit, debt, savings and budgeting works and I couldn’t be more thankful. What’s even sweeter is that you two call Atlanta home too! Thanks for all you do and don’t stop posting podcasts! P.S. As craft brew enthusiast like myself, I recommend Saporous by Three Taverns in ATL. A perfect tarty sour for hot summer days

Common sense reminders that we all need to hear!

I love this podcast so much. It’s a perfect place to start for those who are just beginning to think about how to better their personal finances. Based on their recommendations, I changed phone carriers, saving $120 a month! I very successfully appealed my property taxes. And, I just started my first Roth IRA. Even for those who are more well-versed in personal finance, it’s a great way to think about the “common sense” items that you might have forgotten about or been avoiding. Just by listening to them regularly, I find myself being more contentious about my purchases, opting for a more frugal and minimalist lifestyle. I’m making wiser purchases, not because I have to anymore, but because I want to! Now, I’m looking forward to an early retirement in which my husband and I can travel the world!

Not loving the repetition

I don’t love the replaying of episodes! It’s a waste of time and space on my download list.

Horrid commercials

I would listen to this podcast a lot more but for the commercials. How did they rate so low as to only have ads only for the dumbest other podcasts (bachelor recap podcast, really?) and the ever ever present use all the basketball lingo in 30 seconds with a trendy lead in auto insurance commercial. Literally every break the stupid basketball lingo! No one is impressed that the company knows what a brick is in basketball Normally I don’t mind the commercials so much. If they vary or are straight forward and not annoying it’s fine. I understand that someone has to pay for the free podcast. And I actually have used the promo codes to get discounts at times. I can only listen to this podcast if I can be ready to immediately hit the forward 30 seconds button a bunch of times every 5 minutes. So that leaves it out if I’m doing something with my hands. I’m a binger, so I like to listen to a bunch of episodes at a time but not possible with this one. Too bad. The content and hosts are really good.

Helping me become financially independent

I was drowning in debt. So much so that I had to move overseas and Listening to these two has helped me learned that I don’t always need to get my butt kicked by my finances. On the contrary, I can actually be the bully. I have paid down student loans and gotten my savings in order. I am on the road to financial security and student loan lay-off by next year. I started listening to the show around episode 67 (not even thinking purchasing real estate would ever be in the cards for me). But now, I see shimmering lights at the end of the tunnel. I thank the this podcast for helping me build up my confidence and showing me creative and organized way to get my life together! I hope to be back in the states soon, but I don’t plan to ever stop listening!

Love your show!

I came across your show by accident. Love the upbeat nature of your show. Fun and informative. Not political more like sitting in the room with a group of friends talking about everyday issues.

Good podcast

I just really like these guys. I feel like their approach is so much more flexible and broadly applicable than Financial Independence doctrinaires, and they strike me as having a good amount of humility and curiosity. Really motivating and nice to listen to.

Fantastic podcast!

I’ve been listening for a few months now. Your most recent episode on Working From Home was amazing. I’ve been holed up with my husband and little sister in her apartment, and we are all working from home and in each other’s way. I took your suggestion and bought some ear plugs and it’s made the biggest difference! I also loved your recommendation for Clockify. I appreciate the way you are adding value and staying on top of the really important topics during this chaotic time. Thank you so much! Rachel
