FANTASTIC AND ENTRALLING!

These podcasts never let me down! I may have heard or read some of the tales before while others are brand new to me. Even with ones I think I know well, I am blown away by the depth of the research evident in the episodes as they teach me the story many times from the side of the oppressed and not the side of the oppressor! This is fantastic and fascinating for me! * I Must Add* Some make nasty comments about the accent of the speaker on the episodes.... Not everyone sounds the very same in this life- nor should they. You are picking apart the delivery on something that the speaker cannot really ever "fix" to your satisfaction. I say this because you are calling a diamond crappy simply because you resent the way it was delivered. That is a reflection only on you. If anyone listens long enough and in a quiet place if needed- they can pause and rewind if they are so baffled. They can also learn the cadence of this speaker so that each time they understand his accent with more and more ease. It really is as simple as you not being so demanding and you investing in your education more than your comfort or personal preference. Not all worthy messages will ever ever ever be delivered 100% to your liking, and many very truly worthy messages never will be delivered to your liking if you are not ready to hear them. As far as the complaints where this podcaster being slammed for needing to earn a living - he is still giving away a few new episodes a year for free. He did this for free for a long time and was not effectively supported by listener donations. To those complaining- how much did you give? How much free work do you yourself do when trying to house and educate and care for yourself and your family? His family needs to eat and have a good solid roof and functional vehicles and care for them and their animals while he is giving hundreds of hours a month to this podcast and trying to keep it all together. Can you afford to NOT have one treat, costly coffee, beverage, dessert each month so that this podcaster can feed his family and continue to put out content you claim mattered to you before the price tag was added to come of it? Or must it be free for you in order to be of value? Because- it was never and is never free to Daniele Bolelli to provide these episodes to you for free! He carried your tab for years asking for help. The little help that came did not permit this to continue totally for free. Please- People- Show some gratitude. You lost some access for free- you were not 100% abandoned. Do not slam a generous man who was forced set a boundary in order to continue making this show. His situation is not that of anyone but him so should not be given the “Yeah But so and so is Free” BS! Thanks you Daniele Bolelli for being my teacher through these podcasts! I love HOF!!!! "History On Fire- where History ceases to written only by the "oppressors"!!!!

Move to Luminary killed it for me

I was a paying listener, I listen to many podcasts and drop a few bucks to many to support their effort, but the surprise move to Luminary and the $8 commitment to a single podcast was too much. I love Daniele’s work, but can’t commit that much to a single provider

A great podcast

My name is Teddy and I listen to this podcast with my dad and I think you should do a podcast on the battle of Kursk.

Narrator

I love this pod cast. Dan Carlin is great, but that Italian speaking guy makes it very very difficult to listen. His accent is too strong. He should have his own pod cast and only dan Carlin should be the pod cast narrator.

Nah, dawg.

I understand running a podcast is expensive and tedious but alienating the audience you’ve learned by locking new content behind a paywall is unacceptable. Enjoy fading into mediocrity with your 2 podcasts a year.

Superb!

I’m an alpine caretaker in northern New England, and I’m not sure how I’d get through my week in the backcountry without the soothing sound of Daniele’s deconstruction of the gore and glory of human history. Perfection!

The influence of Italians on western society continues with this enlightening take on history. Come for the art of storytelling, stay for the soothing sounds of Daniele. Remember: “Steel isn’t as strong as the hand that wields it!”

Fantastic podcast

A very well researched and well told history podcast about some of the most interesting people from the past. Came over from the drunken taoist and started with the Teddy Roosevelt series before bingeing through a bunch more. Great for the morning commute.

Great explanations and an even better experience

I love history and had I finished college instead of building cars for a living, I probably would have been an anthropologist. Daniele is great to listen to and brings a good sense of humor while staying on topic. Some podcasts focus more on their banter than on the topic and sometimes it’s ok but I also enjoy learning.

Basically Joe Rogan with an accent

Skip the first 12 and last 10 minutes of each episode to bypass the advertising this guy does. I really tried to like this as the subject matter is often intriguing. It’s just too bad the presentation is not.
