In the first part of my recap of the Celiac Project Screening Q and A with Samra Blanchard, MD in February, I wanted to share something that really surprised me. According to Dr. Blanchard, if you have Celiac Disease and react to getting glutened quickly, you have Gluten Sensitivity. By quickly, she meant within a few hours of gluten consumption. For those with only Celiac, it takes longer for the autoimmune response to be noticed. She mentioned that patients who report quick responses are noted in their medical chart to have both.
