Don't let J-Pod read the ads!

J-Pod reads the ads in a sing-songy voice. Can't believe the sponsors put up with it.60% politics. It's fine, because the boys are entertaining and Jonah Goldberg laughs like a little girl. Otherwise, it’s just another podcast with grown men talking about Star Wars and superhero movies.

Trifecta

Each of these guys are on separate podcasts which I love but when the 3 are combined together it’s gold - GOLD!

Stop the drop-ins

GLoP is one of my favorite podcasts. Always entertaining. But on the This is Hollywood episode, I found the drop-ins of sound effects and movie clip audio off-putting. It felt more like an interruption in the conversation instead of an enhancement to it.

Winnie-the-Pooh

In your last episode, you never mentioned the brouhaha going on in China with Xi Jinping’s look alike. Instead of ignoring the comparison, Xi has banned Winnie, and censored all Winnie’s videos. The smart thing Xi should have done was to ignore the comparison, and before long, people would be focusing on something else. Now, check out Thursday’s NYT’ article, and South Park’s take off on Winnie and also the NBA. I never miss this podcast and Commentary podcast as well.

Not a Niche Podcast

I had only been listening to one Ricochet podcast, Made Dogs and Englishmen, so I thought I would try another so I downloaded and listened to a GLOP episode. My very first episode was a very enlightning ( although not very elevated) conversation about the history and present practice of 'cornholing' . I thought before listening to the cornholing episode that I knew a fair amount about the intellectual history of classical liberalism and American history in general. But this discussion convinced me to become a Ricochet subscriber and thus a great fan of GLOP. I recommend it to friends but would not call it just a niche cornhole podcast. Its much more.

Hilarious!

I love this show. Hey J-Pod you should have linked your ad for Ancestry.com not only with Mindhunter and other serial killer shows. You could have also mentioned the movie “Hitch” with Will Smith and Eva Mendes. On a date the title character, Hitch, surprises Eva Mendes when he takes her to Ellis island; he shows her the log book with her immigrant ancestor’s signature. That ancestor was the first of her family to come to America, specifically through Ellis Island. Mendes‘ character starts crying. Hitch thinks he has done something so great for her. But then her crying becomes hysterical. Hitch does not understand until she explains to him that the ancestor who came through Ellis island was also a legendary serial killer.

Brilliant and fun

Love the chemistry between Rob, John, and Jonah. The blend of politics, pop culture, and the mundane is a refreshing break from the average political podcast.

Great

If you cannot get enough of the Podhoretz monologue on the (John Podhoretz) Commentary podcast (starring John Podhoretz) you can get another Pod monologue on GLOP! In between Pod breaths, Long and Goldberg opine with light hearted and interesting takes. In all seriousness, the whole gang is great and I always enjoy listening to these three talk about issues of the day.

Great guys

All 3 of these guys are great. They have interesting and funny insights that are definitely worth a listen if you’re in the center-right camp like me.It is true, though, that Podhoretz often tries to dominate the conversation, but it doesn’t particularly bother me.

Fine wine

A wonderful podcast that takes three of the finest conservative voices today and places them in a forum that highlights their unique experiences and humor. I never miss an episode. Except the GOT stuff. I have to side with Rob on that one.

Can’t miss podcast

This is one we always save for a quiet time when we can sit down, listen and get every drop of joy out of it. Podhoritz gets carried away with his story telling, Jonah’s laugh and science fiction references, and Rob bringing everyone everyone down to Earth with his pithy common sense remarks make this a can’t miss pod. Love these guys.

3 Guys having fun

I really enjoy this podcast for its random nature in taking topics and going where no man has gone before. Jonah giggling, Rob snoring, and Pod trying to maintain some order while getting in the sponsor spots is a hoot. I am with Mr. Long on the Game Thrones reviews, but will miss hearing his humorous disgust in having to tolerate them.

Lame of Thrones

Love the podcast despite the Game of Thrones “snooze fest” episode(s) (I’m with Mr Long on that one). But, seriously, keep up the good work and I’ll keep listening!
