Um

I enjoy most of this podcast. Maybe it’s my age, but the constant “um’s” really annoy me. Can’t rate 5 stars because of this.

It grew on me

I admit I did not love this podcast at first....I thought it was a little dull and I wasn’t interested in all the small talk. However, I kept listening and it has become one of my favorite bookish podcasts. The hosts are highly intelligent and well-read. They do an excellent job of covering difficult topics such as grief and faith in a very thoughtful way. I love the diversity of the books covered and I think this podcast is very inclusive of all types of readers and people in general. I love hearing about the bookstore life. I get so many recommendations new and old from this podcast. The sound quality could be better.

TBR Goodstuff

My TBR list overflows! Annie is a delight and Chris is amazing. I want to live in Thomasville so that I can be friends with them and visit the Bookshelf everyday during my lunch hour. I love every topic they discuss and love the “A funny thing happened this week” story each week!

July 4th comments

I always enjoy this podcast and book recommendations. I was a bit troubled by some of the comments made during the July 4th program. While America certainly has many flaws and has made many of the same civil liberty atrocities of other countries, there is much, much good and worthy of celebration. I’m currently reading Finding Manana by Mirta Ojito, a native Cuban and her retelling of her life in Cuba reminds you of some of the things American has gotten right in history. I would encourage everyone to read this book when they feel America isn’t worthy of celebration.

Favorite literary podcast!

Enjoyable and funny! I love that this podcast is varied and not every topic is about a YA novel. They even discuss classics! I highly recommend this podcast for avid book readers not stuck on YA/popular fiction mode.

Always look forward to this!

Annie and Chris talk about everything from the realities of owning/working in a bookstore to creative topics like matching music and TV shows with books to how darn hot it is in the South. They talk about books in a really compelling way and their tangents make me smile with their fun rapport. I look forward to Thursdays thanks to their awesome work!

How did I not find this podcast sooner?

The hosts are such a lovely pair of people to listen to. I could listen to them chat about books (etc) all day. I wish I could go visit this bookstore in person. Definitely recommend for bookish people

So many great book recommendations!

Annie and Chris are such a delight to listen to. I’m not sure how I stumbled upon their podcast but I’m so thankful I did. Annie’s taste in books really aligns with my own and she has suggested so many books that I had not previously heard of or would have thought twice about. I’m so grateful for all of her suggestions and I look forward to their podcast every week!
