    Changed for the worse

The podcast simply isn’t good since Clare was let go. Replacing her with rotating talking heads doesn’t work, and quite frankly it’s been boring for the past couple of months. Although Clare is irreplaceable, it would be nice if there was just a regular member of the crew for us to get used to. Either way, Clare’s insight and humor is deeply missed. The show sustained others leaving but this time feels different...

    Bring Back Claire!

Y’all should have let go of Perry Bacon Jr instead of Claire! The Podcast has been an abysmal failure since.

It was really good with Clare, now it’s okay

It’s fine I guess, but Clare always had the insightful comments and wouldn’t let some unstated major premise by without questioning it. It’s so important these days not to let those go. Jut now they had a long monologue about independents with the assumption that “real” independents were moderates and no acknowledgement of any political positions to the right of R or left of D. We really need more thoughtful approaches to discussions like that.

Great topics but need a more lay viewpoints

I often enjoy the show. On your most recent episode, your segment “good use of polling or bad use of polling” revealed major flaw in your show. As experts in politics and part of the media naturally you answer this question from that viewpoint. I disagree with all three panelists and think this is a good use of polling. What Biden is trying to do is re-frame bipartisanship. He is trying to reframe unity. Finding common ground in our communities and as a nation of people, is more important and should be the ultimate goal, versus trying to unite politicians in Washington (who are likely entrenched in their views and habits). For numerous reasons, our politicians are not beholden to their constituents, rather constituencies are beholding to the representatives. Y’all are wrong in your claim that Biden lied about unity in his inaugural address. What a cynical view! I believe he is attempting to reframe political discourse in a more productive, grassroots way that returns more power to the voters.

not the same since ABC fired Clare. I miss her and the crew’s dynamic. I had been watching the show since 2016 and am disappointed

    I miss Clare

I was sad when Harry left but the crew persevered. Clare going has just been a total devastation to this podcast. It just does not come together as before. Everyone is working hard but man is this stilted. I wish she were back.

    Flagging without Clare Malone

I’ve tried to listen since Clare Malone was laid off but it’s a struggle. Still some great analysis from the likes of PBJ and Nate, of course, and insightful facilitating from Galen but the pod now lacks personality and well-roundedness. And please, someone tell Sarah Frostensen (sp?) how to pronounce rhetoric. My God, you’re an editor and a podcast contributor, learn how to prounounce basic vocabulary.

    Clare Made the Show Great

I really want to like the current version of the podcast because it was once (and for a long time) my favorite podcast. Unfortunately the show without Clare is a total snoozefest.

    Better without Claire

Sorry other reviewers. This podcast is better without someone trying to fit the data to any narrative the news media want to tell.

    Agree agree agree

The debate in this show has been very agreeable since Clare left. I wasn't a big fan of hers while she was here but clearly she brought something to the table that kept the conversation more exciting. Maybe we are all conditioned to want to see " both sides" ( eye roll) of an issue. But it seems like now it's just one happy family of opinions swing on a tire swing in the backyard. I hear the words " agree with you" at least one an episode.

Used to be my favorite podcast

And then Clare left. I was disappointed, sure, with the Jody and Harry departures, but the podcast has had all of the life sucked out of it since Clare was laid off. Perry is good and Nate is Nate, but imo she was the glue that held the whole thing together. I used to anxiously await each episode and now it’s 50-50 on whether or not I even listen.

    Lost something

I find myself zoning out with this pod a lot more lately. It’s informative, but not very entertaining. Someone needs to take up the hemisphere of personality Clare occupied. The episodes are pleasant and polite, but not as engaging as before.

    Great Podcast

I think some people hate on this podcast too much. It’s a bit biased here and there, but the work they do must have educated judgements incorporated into them, and what are judgements at least slightly influenced by? Bias. However, they do a pretty good job to keep their biases at bay, and I enjoy the show’s commentary.

I loved Nate Silver before it was cool

Love 538. Nate Silver is my true north. He checks my partisan biases. I have a high threshold for disagreeing with Nate. He offers insight and other worldly wisdom that is rare. Perry Bacon Jr. is a gem. What an amazing mind to offer thoughtful balance. He has a long career ahead of him. His imagination is the only limit to his success. The Claire layoff was a huge blow. I have a hard time listening since then. She was the yin to Nates yang. Jody, Galen, and Micah are all also irreplaceable. It seems wrong to leave them with out their much deserved props, but I have errands to run. Listen and really listen, you might just find some nuance beyond the partisan hate.
