Very disappointed - was a huge fan

I’ve been listening for 5 or 6 months now and was a huge fan. I just heard the Pinterest VA episode and went to that woman’s website. Her supposed testimonials for the course don’t check out at all if you visit their listed websites. One woman’s link doesn’t work at all and the other hasn’t posted on her blog since mid 2017. Maybe Julie is just going for the money kickbacks without Gwen? Maybe she’s been lying about her income to make people want to take her courses? All sorts of doubts here. What a shame that the integrity isn’t there. I’m out.

Great Variety

What I love most about this podcast is the diversity of the people Julie brings on to the show. Somehow she is able to find people all over the globe who have not showcased their story on other podcasts yet so I enjoy the constantly fresh content.

Something for everyone

I’m new to the concept of FIRE, having stumbled upon an article in Money magazine at my parent’s house and slowly falling down the rabbit hole. I feel like this podcast has met me where I’m at, despite the fact that J (and earlier Gwen) are way ahead of me. I’ve learned so much and definitely recommend it for anyone interested in becoming financially independent!

How much money can I make off of my listeners?

Now that Gwen has left, all you get in the podcast is spam, especially if you subscribe to their newsletter. If you try to email or message them about it, they will ignore you and block you from all of their social platforms. Julie’s whole brand now revolves around “how much money can I make off of my listeners”. Spammy and rude.

Meh

The ones I've listened to... Made a ton of money... in the Seattle housing market... And paid off a bunch of debt.... Because she lives with her parents. Not very impressed overall. Doesn't really apply to the average american

Authentic

I love this podcast. Gwen and J treat you like a friend that they’re talking to and it’s always a nice variety in content. As someone 4 years into their fi journey, travel hacking, planning a gap year and raising two kids this podcast always shares something I find value in. Making MN proud!!!

Traditional Early Retiree

I just started listening to FI podcasts recently and J and Gwen are by far my favorite. Intelligent and relatable, even as a “traditional” early retiree, I find their discussions relevant and their guests engaging with topics that are actionable. As I prepare to leave my company, so that I can now work the way I want to, I find so much wisdom in what is being shared and encouragement in my trajectory. So glad to hear my side investments meet the “side hustle” criteria. I’m sharing this podcast with my adult children so they can start becoming aware of the art of the possible.

Love it!

Great podcast and Alys is amazing! I am the other Etsy Passive income group mentioned near the end of the podcast. As a single mom, I wanted to teach people how to make a passive income selling instant downloads on Etsy without having to spend any money, or very little money at all. I am intrigued and inspired by Alys! I have spent almost 2 years researching Etsy, and also have a YouTube channel, “Alisha Conn,” teaching people how to do this. Next step is online courses, and a membership site! I am now a subscriber to this podcast, thank you so much for your valuable content!

Better than the rest! Fresh perspective!

I listen to a LOT of podcasts (and have for over a decade) and have never left a review. But I really want people to find this gem! There are a lot of financial podcasts out there but so many are the same. old. thing. Basically the same interviews, blah, blah, blah. If you’re into F.I.R.E. or even just saving in general there is not a ton of variety. Gwen and J really push their guest to get the best possible interview. I’m not a Millennial, but you don’t have to be to enjoy this podcast. Keep up the awesome work ladies. Still working on binging my way through the episodes and I’ll be sad when I’m all caught up so I figured I better write this review so they stay motivated to keep recording :)

Great for aspiring early retiree’s in their 20’s & 30’s

I’ve been listening to Fire Drill for the past 1.5 since I started getting serious in my FIRE journey. They have a fresh perspective on personal finance and I love the more causal and personal feel that other podcasts miss. This podcast is great to compliment ChooseFI, Afford Anything, and the Mad FIentist.

A solid addition to my podcast library

I found this podcast after starting on my finanical journey through another FI podcast and I really enjoy the 2 ladies take on things. They are fun to listen to and hearing their wins (and some losses) might their journey real and more relatable. Definelty one to add to your library! Keep up the great work and look forward to future episodes!

Great motivation and inspiration

My wife and I love our careers in health care, but often become burnt out and overworked. We want to get to a place where we can live semi-retired, working the hours we want and enjoying time for travel. This podcast was recommended and provides lots of great tips as well as inspiration to keep pushing towards the goal of a phased retirement.

Great Introduction to FI and FIRE

I discovered this podcast when I was looking for the best podcasts on financial independence. New to the idea of FI, I wanted to explore if it was right for me. Gwen and J’s podcast has been a perfect way to try FI on for size because they interview new people each week, exposing listeners to diverse stories of saving, side jobs, entrepreneurship, and innovative lifestyles that illustrate the many ways one might reach and live FI. I was so impressed by the show that I actually went through and “binge listened” to every episode available on iTunes over the course of about six weeks. Now I feel like I’ve gone from FI novice to, well, at least well educated on the topic, and I had fun doing it. Thank you, Gwen and J, for producing a fun and informative show that dares us all to dream big and have a great time on our road to FI.
