Great show

I’m a fan! Give this one a tumble if you’re okay with hosts who don’t always agree or if you can stand to stomach an opinion that isn’t necessarily your own. Their fan interaction is solid as well! I wish they’d talk more a Star Trek.

What’s the problem?

I like when they argue, it’s funny. Love Ray’s crazy DC obsession, keep it fun guys!

Bit hypocritical

One of the hosts seems to refuse to accept any criticism of DC and won’t say if Marvel does anything good. The other, who clearly likes Marvel more, will criticize both and speak positively of both. FWIW I’m a DC guy and even I can see it. Feels like the network needs an intervention or something.

It’s ok to like them all, kinda.

Brent is a great host of the show. He is open about what he loves and he is pretty unbiased in his opinions. He often looks for things that are great and is honest about things he doesn’t like. Ray is biased towards DC so much that even mediocre films like BvS or Aquaman he will prop up and praise over any of their comic book property. His tag line, “it’s all subjective” is really his way of saying I’m right and you are wrong. Brent gets five stars and Ray gets one for the score of three overall. Take what Ray says with a grain of salt. If not for Brent I would unsubscribe.

Informative, entertaining....and what not

It's refreshing to find a fandom podcast that encompasses all fathom of comic books, movies, and what not. These guys are great at covering DC, Marvel, everything in between, and what not. It's also nice that they each have their preferences in studios, titles, characters, and what not. I finish every podcast feeling entertained, informed, and what not. You two continue to deliver a quality podcast and make my daily commute relaxing, funny, lively, and what not. Keep up the great work...and what not. :-)

Your Far From Home review....

Your Far From Home review was detailed, and I respect that, but good goo....you’re opinions were vastly different than the VAST MAJORITY of us fans, and I respect that they are your opinions...but WOW. I have issues with your thought process and the way you all talk and nitpick is what gives us Nerds a bad name!

Ray needs a new hobby

As a long time follower of the Squadcast Media team. DC TV Squadcast and Fans without Borders are the ones I can only take in small spurts. Ray is one of the most pettiest individuals I have ever heard. Not only in this show but also on Twitter. I feel bad for Brent honestly.

I think I’m done with this podcast. Brent actually has interesting perspectives but Ray kills it for me.This podcast has become a platform for Ray to vent about people that he disagrees with on Twitter, which is actually even more creepy when you notice that half of the people he argues with don’t follow him or @ him and he just finds random people to disagree with. Seek counseling, Ray.

Fool me twice...

After some time off social media I decided to give this podcast another shot and for a while o wasn’t too bothered by it. Again, Brent is a consummate professional who agrees to disagree when options don’t line up. That being said, Ray, whether it be here or on twitter, breaks his own rule of #ItsAllSubjective and lets his temper get the best of him. If his opinion is challenged, it’s game over for the discussion. People are going to like what they like, but he doesn’t seem to get why people would rather watch the MCU films over a Hellboy (2019) type superhero flick. Sure, corporatism plays a part, however the same blind consumer argument he blankets MCU fans with is one that shrouds his judgement as well. If you want to hear open discussions, I’d recommend anything but this one. That being said, Brent has great insight and actually reads up on the source material to this day rather than letting the comic pile grow. Seriously, there’s mega dedication with Brent. If you stick around, stay for his input.

Informative, Respectful, Entertaining

These guys provide extremely interesting insight into all the nerdy, geeky things we all love. I enjoy the fact that when they disagree with each other, they keep it respectable. They do not bash each other or listeners who don’t hold the same opinions they do and for that reason alone, it’s worth a listen. I generally have the same views they do, but when I don’t, their explanations get me to think and often have changed my own opinions. They are one of the reasons I support the network on Patreon. Keep it up guys.

This show is a double edged sword.

Sometimes this show can be good. But, a lot of the times it’s just awful and the hosts are to blame.

It’s all subjective...

The motto thrown around by Ray is “It’s all subjective.” Which is true....Until it becomes about the MCU. Then it’s 100% objectivity. Brent is awesome though and even when someone disagrees with him, he’s rational and doesn’t react with arrogance.

Ray brings the content quality down

The podcast used to be good but now it’s all about Ray and the arguments he gets into on Twitter and his other “conquests” over fans that he perceives to be wrong

It is okay to like them all!

I love listening to Ray and Brent talk about all things geek. They are as honest as they get. I know that might seem like a weird statement, but bear with me. For starters, they have two on going mantras. First - “It’s okay to like them all” and second - “It’s all subjective.” They abide by those mantras very clearly and honestly, reminding their listeners when something said is simply their opinion. They are very honest about any bias they have and are unafraid to disagree with each other or anyone else, without being derogatory. While giving their honest opinion, they usually explain how they came to their conclusion, but they can be swayed to the other side by a good counter argument. While they don’t suffer fools gladly, they don’t stoop to the level of the lowest common denominator. They just remind themselves and their listeners, it’s all subjective.

Used to love it but One of the hosts isn’t great.

I used to really like this show by the latest episode, episode 75 was such a horrible thing to listen through. I really like Bret, he brings a lot of great conversations to the table! Ray on the other hand just seems to be a mindless fan boy who takes everything to heart, I understand that things can get to you but sometimes you need to move on. Like I said I used to love it but now I’m unfortunately not going to listen anymore because of Rays useless dialogue. I would recommend earlier episodes like movie reviews but all do the new content just isn’t suitable anymore in my opinion, hope this helps!! - Mat

Great alternative

I recently found the suicide squadcast and instantly loved what those guys were doing. After a recommendation to this podcast, I am equally pleased! These guys are calm! I know that’s weird to say, but I’m tired of just hearing podcast where people just argue and get heated. It’s like listening to jr high kids. This podcast is for those that just want some news with great insights and some laughs! No drama. No bias opinions or bulldozing. Just good stuff! Thanks guys! Ps: for the unpopular opinions episode, I definitely would say mine is “BVS is better than dark knight!” Thanks again!

Doing Fandom Correctly

I’ll preface this by saying I don’t always agree with Ray & Brent. But none of us agree all the time, right? And that’s perfectly fine. This is the ideal geek podcast for those who have a taste for anything from DC to Marvel to Star Wars to Star Trek... You name it. The hosts offer opinions without being condescending or insulting to opinions that vary from theirs. Something geek fandom can use more of these days.Even though Ray says “must reads” don’t exist (I disagree), “must listens” do. And FWB is one of them.~Jamie Druley - Frequent co-host of Holy BatCast
