Heartwarming and Bittersweet

I can't write a proper review for my life, but both episodes so far touched my heart and I just had to get it out there. As a queer enby person myself, these stories hit home in a way that hurts and heals. I'm still growing into myself, so hearing from other trans and queer people experiences is comforting to me. Makes it easier to think it'll all turn out okay, even with all the bs we have to trudge through. I deeply appreciate the fact that Kaner's sharing this with us. Thank you.(Also, Tia's and A's licorice red string? That's like something out of a romantic indie film, and it *happened*. It's so sweet that it floored me. Holy cow.)

I can't believe I waited so long to listen to this

This reached right into my chest to grip my heart and shake loose all sorts of feelings I forgot I had. It was touching, and honest, and I may have cried an alarming amount. Please please please listen to this!

Love It

Pasting this review on behalf of a friend who can’t do it herself:“This podcast made me feel seen in a very real way I had not experienced before. I am looking forward to the next 8 episodes. 5 (million) stars.”

A deeply intimate celebration

Sophie has embedded love into every aspect of this story — a love for not only the guests on their show, but a joy in their craft and the beautiful, underrepresented identities they explore. Instead of a formal, interview-esque presentation, the first episode with Noah Simes feels as if you’ve stayed up late with your best friends. Edges invites us to join a celebration of ourselves, with all the unsureness and caution and complexities that human beings entail. Listening to it doesn’t feel like a home you just found; it feels like a home you never left.

Welcoming and genuine

This show is so calm and doesn’t add anything to detract from the stories being told. Listening to the first episode felt like sitting down with a friend. There is an overall feeling of open arms and acceptance for any experience. Sophie Kaner has created a podcast “welcome home” sign for members of the queer community who might not always feel that community.

Yes!!

I love the Penumbra so much, not least of all for it’s wide variety of queer representation in a rich fictional landscape... I had no idea how much non-fictional queer stories would mean to me, until I listened to the first episode of Edges. My heart feels very full after listening to this.
