so good!

I am in my teens so being able to "talk" to someone in a way about more serious issues and more meaningful topics is so amazing. I really enjoy her perspective on life and its so relatable for me.

great for depression or anxiety or anytime

i love this podcast so much. i wanted to reply to melissa’s inquiry about mcdonald’s and the environment - i recommend the documentary cowspiracy on netflix for info and numbers about the methane and CO2 pollution crisis in the animal agriculture industry. and mickey d’s is top 5 polluter in canada

It’s like listening to myself think without putting in the all the energy to think

She is so relate-able that it’s like listening to myself think without putting in the energy. So that’s why I’m giving this a 5. Its great when I’m tired and don’t have the mental capacity to think really. And it’s great because her days are eerily similar to mine with the weird Splenda habits & the quest bars, and eating fake diet junk food... and also drug & alcoholism. So I can reflect at the end of the week without actually exert the energy to reflect on how my week went because she does it for me

AUTHENTICITY

Everything in our world is planned, masked, curated. Melissa’s vulnerability makes all other content feel fake and forced. Listen if you want a living human with fears, questions, and self reflection.

I love Melissa Broder.

I fell in love with So Sad Today, The Pisces, and now I look forward to this every week. When I first found the podcast, I binged the old episodes at once & it was so refreshing to hear something so raw & relatable. Calories, food issues, anxiety, life in sobriety, wondering why no one else is wondering why we are existing... these are all things I often feel alone in daily.. and Melissa’s insight & humor help me to feel less overwhelmed by it all. I tend to get burnt out on other podcasts I listen to, but I always look forward to this. I will continue to support any new work from Melissa. :)

Can’t get enough Melissa

My favorite podcast (sorry, show). I have grown to love this more and more with every episode and am constantly refreshing the “recently updated” page waiting for a new one. I could listen to her talk about anything for hours on end. The fact that she hates the word “space” as much as I do is enough in and of itself for a 5-star review (seriously, why aren’t more people talking about this?) but there is so much to love here. Thank you Melissa! ❤️❤️❤️

If you truly listen, this the smartest podcast ever

Yup. This is a solid listen. Give it 2-3 episodes. I too hate “podcasts”, the Self Care Industrial Complex, and the idea that the Peaceful Me in 2019 is just around the corner. You have insight galore, Melissa, all wrapped up in the best uhhh...Thing I’ve listened to in a long while. Thanks for taking the edge off of life- as even a few percentage points can take one off The Edge.

It’s kinda like listening to a show about myself but a girl

I’m also a depressed, anxious, person with an addictive personality. I also heavily used drugs, and alcohol. And my dietary requirements are diet junk food, quest bars, & halo tops. And when all else seems to fail 7/11 sandwiches are my savior & holy grail; of course eaten from the comfort of my car. With my frickin tiny dog, tofu, who also is ravaged by anxiety. Idk if we are basic or the same person, except I’m a gay 24yr old boy.

Untitled

I first read So Sad Today when I moved to Seattle from Miami, and didn’t know anyone or have a job. And I was introduced to your deeply human, candid, and vulnerable voice. I found satisfaction in the way you derived meaning, and a sort of abstract humor, throughout all your struggles. This podcast is a continuation of that connection I felt with you through your work, and it nourishes me when I just feel overwhelmed or lonely, just knowing I’m not alone in this wild and twisted world. I’m proud to be among your gay and queer fans : ) Sending all my love and encouragement
