    You’re mean

You’re nasty and you have no right to use that to voice with people who are asking for help. I pity the lambs that follow you. Professional people don’t have to use that turn on voice to make a point.

    No nonsense I LOVE HER!

Years ago I was in a rough spot with my 20 marriage and my was-band. He had a long affair with a so called friend of mine. It was horrible. My question was should I tell my kids the full truth. Answer was to not sugar coat it. I am free from this burden now and look back with gratitude for the direction Dr. Laura gave me. Thank you Dr. Laura. I enjoy your show for your intentional guidance and wisdom.

    We Need To Cherish Her

Let me get it out of the way: yes, she’s harsh sometimes. However, in my brief existence on earth I’ve learned how incredibly dumb and self-centered people can be. From personal experience, how your own thoughts can hold you hostage and become a blockage. I’m sure she has learned to detect when someone is calling to make themselves feel better, remain combative, or just argue. How else can you break through the noise in their heads? Imagine how hard it is to change your own mind and see from a difference perspective! Is it not 1000% harder to influence someone else? I suspect age has helped her streamline advice. Not to mention, I find it difficult to believe that people go out of their way to call her because they want to be coddled. And I will say, listening to every episode, she does not speak down or harshly to people enduring real tragedies or heartbreaks. Only man(or self) made situations. Getting that out of the way, Dr. Laura has such a logical, grounding perspective. She’s not telling people that they’re the most important person on earth and feeding their entitlement. That’s where people are getting so upset and that’s what’s wrong with the country! Her comment on self care vs self respect has changed me for the better. Self respect makes so much more sense AND EMPOWERING!! Thank you Dr. Laura for everything and for standing firm against the haters.

    Archaic beliefs

Couldn’t even get through the episode of “I want to shack up” I can’t believe the things she was telling a young female about moving in with her boyfriend. I don’t think this type of language and teaching is helpful to anyone. I pray this poor girl does not take Dr. Laura’s “advice”.

    Unfortunate :/

I don’t like that she speaks disrespectfully to her clients “put a cork in it” “be quite” etc. I like her advice but her lack of respect for other adults makes it difficult to value the things she says…

Really surprising - doesn’t seem well informed

I am actually surprised to write this negative review, but I have listened to quite a few of these podcasts. On one in particular she is literally telling a woman that self care and taking care of herself first is wrong. When that is so wrong!! It takes women years to accept they need to take care of themselves first to better care for others. She also says everything is a sacrifice, when it actually shouldn’t be! Wow! Update your education

Love Dr. Laura, but podcast is inconsistent

I have no complaints about Dr Laura. Love her insight and advice and the show in general! But whoever puts up the podcast needs some help or training. She takes multiple calls a day and sometimes only one goes up, or only half of one if she takes a break and finished her call with them later, then we only get the first half. Sometimes 4 calls from the day are on there but most of the time it’s one or maybe two. Kind of confusing. Also sometimes the titles don’t match the call and an old repeated one will play instead of what it says it’s about. Also whoever titles them doesn’t listen to the call obviously. It’s sometimes not about what the title says.

    No nonsense truth.

I’ve listened to Dr. Laura for over 25 years. She was great in the beginning and she is even better now because she has grown through her personal and professional experiences as one would expect. I can compare her to Rush Limbaugh, even though she may not like that, but what I mean is many people criticize her for what they’ve been intentionally mislead in the media about her… But if they listen to her for themselves for a period of time, they fall in love with her wisdom and wish they had had the benefit of her advice much sooner in their lives. You don’t always have to agree with her, but she will make you think and become a better person anyway. Long live Dr. Laura!

    Awful

I’m all for tough love, and a “no nonsense” approach to problem solving, but there is always space for empathy, kindness, and patience. Dr. Laura does not seem to possess any of these characteristics. I was done listening to her within minutes. She’s awful, rude, self-righteous, and belittling.

Not For The Faint of Heart…

Dr. Laura doesn’t waste time. She only has a few minutes to help her callers understand the truth so they can be set free. Some people have difficulty with this approach— it’s not for the faint of heart but it is for the brave person who is willing to accept responsibility and make a change to better themselves. I have learned so much from this remarkable therapist just by listening and thinking about what truth has been uncovered. Dr. Laura has helped me become a better person and for this I am forever grateful.

Glad my mom introduced me Dr Lara

I have been listening to Dr Laura since I was a young lady of 20 years old. My mom would play her show when we would drive, anywhere! I learned a lot, I was a single mom, and didn’t want to meet a man and shack up. I wanted to meet a daddy for my daughter but learned to patiently waited and met my prince and the dad of my dreams for my little girl.

This Podcast Doesn’t Provide Listeners Any Value

I listened to one episode and was so distracted by how rude and belittling Dr. Laura was to her guest that I literally got nothing from listening and couldn’t even make it through an 8 minute episode. She didn’t listen to her guest and started correcting her and giving her poor advice before even hearing the full story. If you’re looking to gain value from listening to podcasts I would look elsewhere.

    Truly Despicable

I am so horrified right now. I listened to one episode and all I could think was I want to go find the guest from the episode I listened to and do some damage control. As a college student currently studying to become a mental health counselor, I can say that not one single tactic she used will ever prove effective. Dr. Laura is a downright bully and I wish there was a way to un-hear what I just listened to. Please please please don’t waste your time listening, it will only bring you down. Nothing she has to say can’t be found elsewhere, delivered in a much better and kinder way. And Dr. Laura, if you’re reading this, I wish that in one episode someone would talk back to you the way you talk to them, so you could catch even a glimpse of what it feels like to be so belittled and talked down to that you want to curl up and disappear. You deserve to feel small, the same way you choose to make your guests feel. To anyone who’s ever been on the show, just know you’re doing alright and there are BETTER therapists out there!! Find help from someone who WANTS you to feel better. Believe in yourself and don’t listen to old sad woman whose only pleasure in life comes from bringing people down.
