Great podcast

Awesome podcast, brilliant topics, but please please please can you label repeat podcasts so I can decide whether or not to skip without having to listen part way through. Current series of life scientific replays are repeats, but there is absolutely nothing in description to indicate original release date (I really had a good look)

Discovery - Patient Undone

This is a really helpful episode. I am going through a re diagnosis of breast cancer with my sister. She and I have struggled with the lack of autonomy on far too many occasions. I am now more aware of why we are struggling with this.

Highlighting Scientists works

I love that your using time to highlight scientists their jobs and have to talk on their point view. Keep them coming.

Discovery gateway to the mind

I found most of the series Discovery of great interest. It goes to great effort to get details across. The microbiome of course is a relative new and exciting area of research. There is a lot going on around the world. The Americans did have single podcast called The Microbiome 3-4 years back. Of course it was full of advertising and dropped in popularity. I am convinced there is enough interest around the world in that area of the microbial research to keep the podcast going at least once a month. Your podcast is called Discovery. So I cannot think of a better platform than yours to take us forward in this revolutionary and sometimes controversial research. Thanks so far. T J McConnell

is this for kids?

Why do they talk like they are talking to school kids? It's condescending

Consumers are not solely to blame for plastic issues

Overall, I am enjoying this podcast and really appreciate the episode exploring the history of plastic and how and why it became so widely used. It’s so much more interesting and useful than simply hearing for the millionth time how evil plastics are. However, the conclusion of the episode on plastic recycling had an overly simplistic viewpoint offered that it’s the job of the consumer to make sure that companies do a better job of recycling more and manufacturing less. Way to let government and corporations off the hook! There was also no argument made against Unilever’s standpoint that they won’t simplify their packaging because they believe in “consumer choice”. Again - blaming bad environmental practices on the individual.

It could be Emma Thompson

I think Dr. Fry could possibly be Emma Thompson: smart, funny, irresistibly eloquent. She and Dr. Rutherford have such excellent banter, I often listen to subjects in which I have absolutely no interest. This is excellent-

The Elements Series -- Yesss !!

Great podcast, this one always in my feed. The episodes about individual elements are terrific, always a surprise discovery, an unexpected angle. And of course...more Rutherford and Fry please. Many thanks and keep up the good work - lots of us are listening.

Avoid if sensitive to animal suffering

This podcast glorifies the use of animals in research. I find it really unsettling that there are no trigger alerts. Avoid if you are a feeling human- many of the episodes are archaic and detail barbaric animal studies lightly.

Riveting!

I look forward to every podcast; I enjoy the short bites of, what is, very articulate discussions on science - this podcasts makes tricky and nuanced bits of science accessible! The BBC has done it again. Truly a delight.
