Thank you, Dave and Joanna!

I just started watching Westworld three months ago, and, without you two, I would have given up. Since you were my go-to podcast for GOT, you came through again for this crazy show. Once I would watch an episode, I would go back and listen to your recaps before watching the next episode - and it made the experience better. Dave and Joanna, thanks for all your work!

Get counseling

I’m sure it’s just supposed to be funny but how mean the hosts are to each other made me stop listening halfway through the second season

Great podcast if you don’t want to read Reddit

I have to be honest, the David Chen hate in the other reviews are super annoying. As someone who is not a Westworld enthusiast, I appreciate him moving the show along by getting Joanna’s take on the episode. The only thing that I don’t like about this podcast is Joanna pretending that she has come up with these original thoughts on the show - when in reality she has seen the episodes in advance and combs reddit. I appreciate her basically summarizing the best thoughts from other Reddit users.Still a great podcast to help clean up facets of the show that may not make sense.

Listen only if you're okay with theories

I actively try to avoid theories because I want to enjoy the moment it happens. These guys end up pulling theories from several sites and discussing them (mostly ending up correct). I wasn't expecting the major plot points of season 1 to be revealed so early. I will come back to this once I'm done with season 2 as well

Does Dave even like this show?

I’ve been going back and watching seasons one and two in anticipation for season three. And because I was a fan of cast of kings I thought I would listen to your podcast as I went along. It seems clear to me that Dave is not a fan of the show his lack of enthusiasm for every scene is evident and every idea and every approach that the show takes is to his dissatisfaction. I wish he would just get over himself and decide to enjoy the show for what it is. It is a thought-provoking piece on artificial intelligence and our role as a society. I hope he does better in season three or I won’t be listening.

Love love love!!

I started watching Westworld because I listen to Dave and Joanna on the Cast of King’s podcast. Between both casts I’ve realized I’m a Dave and I wish I was a Joanna! Dave is a realist and Joanna is a theorist with a keen observation of the storyline. I love listening to them every week!

Way to wordy...

Interesting podcast. Joanna Robinson is a fine host and has interesting and inciteful things to say, but David Chen needs to learn that silence is sometimes golden. His tangents drive me crazy. He'll say that we'll recap the epsode, but 30 minutes and 6 uninteresting tangents later, we finally get back to the topic. I think I'll listen to the other Westworld podcast that Joanna is part of.

required listening for a complicated show

Love this podcast and it was the only way I could follow Westworld's convoluted storytelling. Insightful in a number of ways, including theories for what's happening and themes, without spoilers. Dave and Joanna can be critical, but always in a thoughtful way; I am glad they don't blindly gush over the show but instead point out the flaws.

Decent Podcast

Fairly insightful but there’s a lot of talk, given the number of insights. Also, the commentators discuss certain important aspects of the show, for example, the issue of what is the degree of effective characterization, but don’t really get to basic assessments of the series’ performance.

Great podcast!

This podcast is really informative and very well done. I really enjoy the hosts and the insights they bring up. It is nice that you can tell they are very much fans of this series, but don't fawn over it like it is flawless. It is fun to theorize alongside as I listen to the discussions. Very well done podcast!

Absolutely necessary to understand Westworld

Thank you for helping me navigate this confusing show! I love listening, but WHYYY does Dave have to say “Joanna Robinson” every 30 seconds? We know who Jo is and she does a fantastic job. No need to say her full name like you’re introducing her every time you speak!

A podcast to listen to Chen complain about the show.

Thought this was a really nice recap podcast until David continuously complained about the dumbest details that don’t make sense to him and transfers that frustration into complaining about everything for the show. Why listen to someone talk about a show they don’t even enjoy?? Jay & Jack ate much more light hearted fun, and take the show as it is. Joanna is good - but David brings the whole show down.
