Have you ever seen a dead body? People find dead bodies everywhere, under floorboards, inside chimneys, and in their homes. They’re at crime scenes, disaster scenes and in morgues. There have been dead bodies on the red carpet, in cannibals’ dens, and even advertised in the classifieds. In this series, experienced crime and court reporter Sharnelle Vella, and veteran radio host Dee Dee Dunleavy look at where dead bodies have been found, how they got there, and most importantly, the effect on people who found them. We talk to people who deal with death daily as part of their jobs, and people who weren’t prepared for the shock of finding a dead body. Please subscribe and rate us on Itunes

Love it!

I am just loving your podcast girls. I’m an Aussie living in Seattle and yearn to hear Australian voices and senses of humor. You beaut sheilas ‘MURDER!’ are balm to my Aussie soul. Keep up the pre-story banter, I just love it! Keep up the off colour humor and being yourselves. Brilliant!

So different, funny and sensitive too

I LOVE this pod. It’s really different from other true crime podcasts that I listen to, and Deedee and Sharnelle are funny but in a very natural way. I’m amazed what a variety of stories they have all with dead bodies. Highly recommended. I’m hooked!

Favourite podcast

Love the hosts and all the crazy stories, I binge listen all the time-I find it so morbidly interesting and fantastically entertaining. Even listen during class (which I’ve been told is weird but oh well). Keep up the great work girls can’t wait for more!

Very enjoyable!

A fun and engaging take on something taboo but integral to all of our lives, especially for the morbidly curious like me! I haven’t seen a body, but I always think back to my dads story of seeing a car accident aftermath where someone had been decapitated. As for Sharnelle’s hiding place...it is likely a shaft or hole of some kind, as our lovely Sharnelle likely knows about satellites keeping an eye on six-foot-long holes! Somewhere sewerage based to cover the smell would probably be ideal, but she has said ‘no drains’...Hope she’s not planning to drop it in the new metro tunnel system, I’m on the Werribee line and my trains are delayed all the time as it is...

Had to stop listening

I found this podcast to be extremely rude and disrespectful. The constant laughing and DeeDee continually talking over people, only to say something that wasn’t funny. Also the very lame use of sounds such as flies, zippers etc... very very juvenile.

Disrespectful

I understand trying to make such a topic slightly less morbid and taboo however in the first episode I felt such a strong level of disrespect to the cultures adhered to by the last victim and also making fun of her life. it was clear that “Peter” also felt the same by telling the girls to “get it together”. I listened to this podcast as the topic really interests me but it’s been done in a really distasteful way.

Great job!!!

These two great hosts take such a macabre subject matter & make it so easy to listen to. Death is a part of life that is so under reviewed and discussed & these two ladies approach it with such an empathetic but light-hearted point of view, that you will actually find yourself smiling most of the way through each episode. They answer all of the questions you’ve pondered about death, and then some. It’s a great podcast best approached if you have a curiosity about what happens after our bodies give out, if you have an open mind, & if you’ve got a keen sense of humor!
