Great CA Wine Podcast!

I listen to this podcast regularly while working at a vineyard; Shake Ridge Ranch, Amador County. The name drop in the latest episode prompted me to write a review. Chappy invokes unique perpesctives from mostly CA wine professionals. His and his guests perspectives and experiences provide a lot of value during the changing wine landscape of COVID 19 and even greater are helping shape my own perspective on approaching sustainability in the vineyard and cellar. Thanks Chappy and keep up the good work! -instagram @jlewsfood

Top Wine Podcast!

This is by far one of my favorite wine podcasts! Chappy’s know-how of the wine industry and ability to get people to open up and share their stories and experiences is one of a kind. I can’t wait to hear each episode every Monday and learn from the Incredible Cru guests!

Great insights into CA winemaking, viticulture, and branding

Chappie does a great job of focusing on the CA market and, I think, shows a youthful, millennial perspective on the wine industry that you will be unlikely to find in other podcasts. Chappie’s guests vary from winemaker to brand builder to nationwide distributor to everything else connected to the American drinks industry. The nearly hour long episodes are perfect for taking the dog for a long walk. He’s able to get some well known, highly respected guests on the show whom are able to provide great insights. If wine is your passion or business, this is another good podcast to add to your arsenal of knowledge. There are some valid points about the audio quality (which, tbh, is every podcast not done in a sound studio) and the lack of international focus (again, Chappie is in CA focused on the US market).

Content

If you are going to try to do a podcast for the public to hear, learn to speak English without using “fer sure,” “ya know”, “totally” and “like”. It is used so many times during the podcast it sounded like the vernacular from Valley Girl.

Please interview people outside of the US!!

I really want to love this podcast - I think Chappuis does a great job in interviewing interesting people in the industry. However, this podcast is almost entirely American wine. If that’s your thing, cool. It’s not mine. Where are the French, Italian, Spanish wine makers? The three biggest wine countries in the world aren’t represented here and it makes me sad. Let’s get a diversity of voices on the pod please!

Hits Your Interests, Hits Your Brain

Cru is my go to "Jam" for the gym. For one thing, they are long enough to last my workouts but also, they are really well done and very interesting. The quality of people interviewed is fantastic. And Chappy's knowledge of wine/wine industry makes the interviews all that more interesting - he asks the right questions. I always enjoy and often learn from these podcasts. It's a great way to expand your wine knowledge and learn about wineries in various regions.

Great Podcast!

I love the Cru Podcast! This week’s episode with Sophie & James was especially inspiring! So happy for their success as they pursue their dream. Now if only I could get their wines in Switzerland ... Sophie, do you want to make a personal delivery to Geneva?

Good stuff! Drink up!

I just discovered the podcast this week! As a wine lover and at home winemaker, I'm really enjoying it! The guest line up has been impressive and the stories fun and inspiring! There ahve been some audio issues and those can be distracting, but so far not enough to keep me from truley enjoying the podcast! Keep 'em coming!

Great guests, quality needs improvement

Sound quality issues; interviewer could be more dynamic, informed and articulate. The guests are fantastic and have wonderful stories to tell, just wish the format was better at unlocking them.
