Add it to the Tuesday Routine!
Jovan's a smart and hard-working NBA reporter, so it's no surprise he's killing it with Clip City just four episodes in. So far, the podcast offers a solid mix of substantive interviews with Clippers players (assuming more will follow Landry Shamet), scintillating discussions with fellow reporters and top-notch analysis from Jovan, himself. Anyone who has read, listened to or followed Jovan knows this, but it's worth repeating here: He's a thoughtful journalist, who provides context for his takes as opposed to some sports talk personality who likes to shock listeners into paying attention, throwing random perspectives at the wall and seeing what sticks. His routine use of advanced (but digestible) stats, paired with thorough reporting is one way in which he does that so seamlessly. That said, he still likes to keep it light when it's appropriate whether it's making music references on Twitter or asking Landry Shamet for his favorite LA places to eat, for example. Not sure who's responsible, but the D. Miles podcast art is a nice touch too!I'm rooting for this show to continue strong for some time, as I'm a fan of Jovan, the Clippers and the NBA as a whole. What LAC is accomplishing this season is quite rare, given its high level of player turnover in recent seasons and the team's incredible youth. Thankfully, we have someone like Jovan to help document it all.
