    Almost-perfect True-Crime Podcast

The host keeps himself, his personal business and his opinions out of the podcast and makes it about the victims. That is how it is supposed to be. This genre seems to spawn a lot of hacks and armchair detectives, so this podcast is a perfect example how to conduct oneself when relaying information of others’ loss and suffering-ESPECIALLY when podcasters are monetizing their efforts. My only gripes are that I have to listen at 2x speed because he talks too slowly on regular speed (at 2x it doesn’t sound rushed so I go with it). Also…the correct term, no matter the location in the world, is “Firefighter(s)”. Women have been doing the work in the FD services for DECADES, so there’s no need to assign a specific gender to the job. I also don’t get the flatline intro when it’s true crime (I get that they died but…)and not a medical podcast. Thx. Keep up the good work, “Casey”.

    Excellent

I love this podcast. The narrater does a great job. I listened to every episode while painting my house during the pandemic. Perfect distraction from both painting and the pandemic! Thank you and keep up the great work!!

    All Substance, No Fillers

Unlike the tired and overplayed recipes of so many other true crime podcasts, Casefile is all about story telling. Completely objective, no witless banter between cohosts with fake laughs and sly virtue signaling.

    Perfect

I love everything about this podcast—the detailed stories, the narrator’s voice, the careful attention to narrative structure. This is a podcast for true crime buffs who prefer intrigue over gore, substance over sensationalism. Some may be bothered by the narrator’s monotone. I find it sooothing. I listen to the show most nights and it’s like I’m being read a dark bedtime story. This is the only podcast I’ve ever subscribed to; I can’t get enough.

Incorrect names of accused and tried

Regarding episode 211, you kept calling the boyfriend of Liz as being “Neil”. His name is Glenn Herr. How could you screw up such a huge difference ? There is no “Neil” in this case whatsoever.

    Annoying voice and pace

How anyone finds his voice pleasant is beyond comprehension; it’s nearly robotic. Listened to episode 157 for about 15 minutes and couldn’t take it. This guy has a voice for print.

    That voice…

If the narrator is not computer generated the it is the oddest human voice I have ever heard. Total lack of inflection and weird stilted cadence. I couldn’t even make it through an entire episode.

    Disappointed

Used to love Casefile because there was no side chatter & I personally enjoyed the narration. Now it’s pay or wait a week for already well known cases :(

    Excellent Podcast

Excellent, detailed stories and the narrator has the perfect voice and pacing, as well as the intelligence to fully understand what he is reading, placing emphasis in the right places and —hallelujah— pronouncing all words correctly. I noticed a derogatory review because this podcast had the audacity to be sensitive to LGBTQ issues, and in an effort not to offend, removed one of their podcasts. Bravo to them. Although “woke “has become a bad word in certain circles, all it says to me is that the people running this podcast have the maturity to care about misrepresentations, hurtful comments, and the feelings of others. That is commendable, and I appreciate their discernment. Just because something CAN make a dollar doesn’t mean it should, and when a business or podcast has the integrity to put ethics in front of profits, I stand and applaud them for it. Thank you for this excellent podcast.

    Great stories

I really love this pod. The guy doesn’t show much emotion but he tells the story without any side babble or getting off topic. Don’t know about you but that is a plus for me. Straight and to the point. I love it. Has some really great stories that are pretty gruesome. Love his voice and accent!

    Frustrated

I love this podcast, but for the last few months I am unable to listen to certain episodes, or, if I pause an episode it won’t start again. I listen to podcasts a ton and this is the only podcast where this situation occurs. I am happy for any advice that will help me to continue listening to one of my favs.

You made a serious error, saying “Brittany’s brother Hugh.” Hugh is Jayna’s brother. Please fix it.

    My Favorite Podcast

This was my first crime podcast. I’ve listened to many other podcasts over the years since and Case File remains my favorite. The host takes the stories seriously and you feel he has a lot of compassion for the victims and their families. Also, I love Aussie accents.

Not as good as it started out

Edit: I really loved the unique untold stories this podcast started out with. Lately this year it’s been saturated with overexposed already been told stories. Wish they would return back to that. Untold stories need exposure more than one’s told over and over already. Maybe spread out and tell the stories of those who need more light shined on them. Especially POC. If not I can assure you that you will lose many followers. This podcast has a huge following please don’t sell out. Love this podcast. It is my absolute favorite. Unlike some others I love his monotone voice. Just the details and facts. So easy to listen to and pay attention to. My only wish is there was more content! Thanks for all you do.

    This podcast is woke!

I liked it until the narrator said that he removed an episode so that the LGBTQIA community wouldn’t be offended. I am so tired of it all.

    An all-time fave

This is my go-to for true crime… I love the longer format that lets us really get in depth, and the just-the-facts-ma’am approach. The anonymity of the host is a positive; it’s all about the story and not about his reaction to it or 10 minutes of what he had for breakfast. Sometimes you want riffing, but sometimes you just want straightforward, solid storytelling in a respectful tone befitting the sombre subject matter. Keep up the great work!
