Excellent first investing course/survey

From one prof to another, hat's off on creating informative, engaging, helpful, practical, and amusing finance (!) lectures. If I ever meet you in person, I'm buying you a beer or two.

Amazing

Love this guy. As a finance major, I have learned more from this guy than many of my finance classes. Explains concepts in the most simple and straightforward way imaginable!

Lecture Wipout

OK, this is my second review, and I still love the course, except I was midway through the fall 2013 edition when winter semester started, and they erased all of the fall lectures before the Winter semester lectures were all available. So now I have to wait until Frank, the Prof, catches up winter semester to where I was in the fall. To clarify, when they repeat the course they erase the last version. Need to keep at least one previous semester of lectures. Most of us do not complete these courses in real time.

Great for newbies!

I greatly enjoyed this free course on investments. Paiano is funny and covers the basics very well with multiple examples and historical outlook. The gregorian chant is the best! Huh? ;)

Great information, for free

Great lectures!! Makes it interesting. I have been playing the stock market for about a year, so I am still learning. I wanted to learn more about the stock market and all types of investing. He covers a lot of areas and gives great examples. I listen to it in my car on my commute and it keeps me entertained. I guess the best endorsement I could give would be that I would pay for it if it wasn't free.

Great for beginning or relearning investments

Great lecture and professor. Only problem is his political views shine through on occasion. I enjoy an educated environment with little personal preferences. The course is one of the best beginning investor courses...

Great course!

This will show you what you need to know about investing. Awesome course. My only issue is the teacher likes to talk a bit too much. Kind of annoying. Great info though if you can get through it

Perfect for newbies

I graduated from Emerson College last year as a journalism major and my first job out of college has somehow lead me to a position at an asset management firm. I know absolutely nothing about investing and after listening to the first lesson I already feel more confident in the work I do and the jargon I run into. I'm looking forward to finishing the series and finally getting a grip on this industry! It's engaging, examples and walk troughs are great! I recommend!

Excellent teaching of important material

I am not a student at Southwestern College, but I downloaded these lectures to become a more active participant in my personal finances. Professor Paiano is an excellent teacher, and I have learned more from his course so far than I have from any other of the many resources I've explored. His lectures are accessible and engaging, and he manages to succinctly explain business in a way that keeps the listener informed and interested. This is a great introductory course for anyone interested in gaining a solid foundation for future investments.
