Great podcast about Texas history!

I lived in west Texas in high school and this podcast brought back a lot of memories about Midland and the Permian. Very well produced and researched.

Love your podcast!

My husband and I recently started listening to this podcast and we love it! My husband has worked in the oil field for three years as an operator, and had to be away from our family for weeks and even months at a time to stay in Midland, Pecos, and Odessa. So cool to hear a different perspective! We always say when the oil field is good life is good, but when it’s bad, you better look for a new job!

Love the history!

My great grandparents dirt farm was in Stanton, TX and in the 1930’s my GG father died suddenly leaving 4 kids and a wife behind. Life was hard there for them. Thankfully Oil happened in the 1940’s my GGrandmother struck oil on her farm and was able to spend her older years comfortable and happy. The family still hold oil and mineral rights to this day on the farm. I’m so removed from this history and learning so much about the area where my family comes from. Thanks so much!

Love the podcast

Usually podcast documentaries are boring but this is really well done and tells a story that needs to be heard by the country who are ignorant of it like I was.

The Original BOOM TOWN

We, hubby and, I are from BorgerTx.... the original BOOM TOWN. A book by the same name, gave us a glimpse of our town, before it was. I haven’t listened to this podcast yet, but we’re very interested in this podcast. My husband worked for P66 for 37 years, it was a very good job, that employs some of the best people from everywhere USA and beyond. Fingers crossed, this will be as great as all the other reviews. If it is, I’ll rate ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I really like it and cant wait for the next one. I listen to it as I haul water into the frac in north east pensylvania. But I think it feels pretty negative towards the oil field and i dont like that.

Excited to find this...

I’m a fiction writer who had family who worked the oil fields of East Texas. I have many stories from them and have written fictional stories from this world as well. Kudos.

Fascinating and professionally presented - A documentary at a BBC level of quality

For anyone interested in the history and current nature of the domestic US oil business or even the West Texas landscape this is a must listen documentary. Well made and very easy on the ear. It engages the listener through an incredible story which is surpassingly highly relevant to business, politics and the environment today.

Compelling story

It is a great piece of story telling on a subject that you can tell Christian really cares about. It’s an area he really cares and wants the world to know the REAL story about the Permian area. I had grand parents in San Angelo so I can kind of relate.
