Excellent Podcast!

An enjoyable podcast for anyone, fan of American directors who left indelible marks on our psyche or otherwise, who loves the connectivity of innovators who ultimately change history. To me it is reminiscent of Manet’s meetings in Café Guerbois, Paris, with like minded artists struggling in an antiquated stoic fine art world. It proves great minds think alike and rarely realize the impact they’ll have on the world. I was just a kid when Jaws, Star Wars and Close Encounters premiered and fortunate enough to have a father who took me to see them so this resonates very deeply with me. The sound quality and editing are both excellent, and the voice actors are attentive to say the least. Thank You Matt Shrader & crew. I’m very much enjoying this podcast!Rich Ives

Great Series! Well done!!

I enjoyed learning how George and Steven met and became friends. This series really had some great inside information into both of their worlds as they started out their careers and I loved how you also talked about John Williams and his major role and friendship with them as well. Well done!!

INCREDIBLE

6/5 stars if I could. I love this new style of podcast. This is put together almost like an audiobook with a story line and voice actors. What a wonderful way to tell an inspiring story. I feel sucked right into the story from the beginning and they provide imagery through great sound design and voice acting. I can see the story like reading a book. It’s a full documentary without the film. Great jobs guys! I hope this could become a format that is copied in the future. Please don’t stop making these!

Astonishing

George Lucas and Steven Speilberg are so important to my own development as a fan of movies, their stories have moved me and in many ways, changed my life. Blockbuster is, hands down, one of the best podcasts out there. The dramatization of their lives and their experiences in Hollywood is a dream come true. It brings every book I've read about them to life in such a captivating way. So make sure you listen and share!

Absolutely incredible and inspiring.

I just moved to LA 8 months ago to get my dream of becoming a full film composer. Hearing stories of my idols before they were the legends we know them as of today got me emotional at times. Really well done! Hope a season 2 is in the works!

Do not miss Blockbuster

This is really an incredible production. I don’t really want to call it a podcast—and, yes, there are definitely good ones out there. It’s more like a movie for your ears. It’s an immersive, enthralling experience with amazing sound design, good writing, re-enactments, and characters brought to life. You’ll undoubtedly learn a lot about just how risky films like “Star Wars” and “Jaws” were (and that they were almost failures). Fascinating, and looking forward to what this team does next. And, yes, I donated. You should, too.
