I’ve been thinking about pursuing a graduate degree

And BLK + In Grad School has helped me understand the hurdles, and the strategies that can be applied to overcome the most common obstacles. This podcast has illustrated that black grad school students are surely not a monolith, but there is a support system that will help us get through higher education.I wish there was 10 stars so I could give the podcast a 10/10 — keep it up Allanté!

My FAVORITE podcast

If you are Black and in school (grad school, undergrad, etc.), this is the podcast for you! The topics are extremely relevant and relatable to various black experiences. I also love the incorporation and discussion of current events. I can tell the creator puts a lot of thought into topics, featured guests, etc. This podcast has had a positive impact on my decision to go to grad school and will help me in navigating the grad school landscape. Keep up the amazing work Queen! I began looking for podcasts to listen to in my senior year of undergrad. This was the first one I came across and I instantly fell in love with the content. At the time I was trying to get a better understanding and feel of what it might be like being Black and in grad school. Literally every question or thought I had was addressed in the various episodes. my favorite episode is the one featuring her mother. I gained a lot of insight into graduate school from this episode because like her mother, I too am a mother going to grad school.

My favorite grad school podcast!

If you are thinking about grad school, listen to this podcast! If you are in grad school...definitely listen to this podcast! I’m completing a PhD and wish I had a resource like this in my master’s program seven years ago. This podcast maps language onto feelings and phenomenons that you otherwise might not be able to articulate. It also provides you with so many tools and resources to make your grad school journey a successful one. Definitely my favorite grad school podcast- hands down!

Great podcast for blacks in grad school

I’ve found this podcast very helpful and encouraging as I finish a masters thesis in biomedical engineering. Grad school isn’t easy for anyone, but being black in these predominantly white and Asian spaces is very stressful. As a student of color, I often feel my work is undervalued, and marginalized. Hearing stories and perspectives of other melanin people in these spaces give me hope and motivation to keep pushing through. Keep up the great content!

Allante is all that!

The angle that Allante takes is providing true support by sharing her experiences. So much relate ability in what you’re speaking towards and always adding value. I also love how you incorporate the lessons from the trap lol. Because we all have a little ratchet in us right haha. Continue to be great Allante! Right on target

I just defended my dissertation after 5.5 years in a doctoral program. She really captures the ups and downs of being POC and/or woman in a doctoral program at a PWI. If you are interested in grad school and/or academia listen to this podcast.

Loved it

Loved it. It was very informal because the guest was her mother, but it was validating for me as another non traditional phd. I heard so many things that I could identify with while listening. Thanks. I am anxiously awaiting the one with your mom and her experiences with caregiving whole in school.
