Created for expectant parents, new mums, new grandparents and for anyone wanting to know more about becoming a parent. Cath Curtin shares over four decades of experience, guiding you through the highs and lows of being pregnant, giving birth and the complexities of parenting. We tend to focus so much on labour and birth and think breastfeeding and parenting will be easy and come naturally. Birth, Baby & Beyond is a realistic yet gentle conversation aimed to inform and prepare you about the things you don't yet know - you don't know! Hear from a multitude of specialists; a paediatrician, an obstetrician & gynaecologist, a physiotherapist, a psychologist, a dad who talks about how life changes for a father, an expert in prams, car seat etc required for new babies, journalist and author Madeline Morris and some very interesting mums who openly discuss the challenges of becoming a mother. Birth, Baby & Beyond tells it how it is.

This works!

I could not love this podcast more. Practical parenting advice delivered in an honest and often humerous manner that gives you the confidence to parent even when you feel like you are hopelessly unqualified. A must listen. Also Cath please can you adopt me?

No stars

If I could give no stars I would. Slamming baby led weaning without reviewing the literature or facts?! And this from a health professional?! Really sloppy resource for new mums and actual shaming for those mums that may actually be doing a combination of baby led weaning and soft textures. Unsubscribed.

Ignorance breeds arrogance

I started off actually enjoying this podcast with the Matthew Boyd episode, but the next one left a totally bad taste in my mouth. The three woman came across as arrogant, rude, nasty and bullying. Teasing other woman for crying in mothers group is appalling and deplorable behaviour. Then bagging parents for not wanting to vaccinate their children and perceiving them as weirdo hippies is totally out of line. A lot of these people are highly educated and deep thinkers who choose not to jab their kids, willy nilly. I would not consider the advice from this podcast on vaccinations. Oh, and to mention bragging about managing a comedian who, at live shows, belittles parents that choose anti vaccinations...that’s disgusting. The overall mentality that these “career women” place more importance on going back to their self important careers rather than care for their children shows what is wrong with today’s society. Children need the loving, tender care of a full time parent, male or female...not thrown to someone in daycare or friends or relatives so they can get back to their precious careers. These women give the vibe that they look down their noses at parents who choose to give up, or put on hold their careers to raise their children. Each to their own, and there is some good information in this podcast, but I just did not enjoy the attitude and arrogance on display. I felt sick listening to some parts.
