Get your bible knowledge to the next level

I’ve been raised Christian and have read the Bible through but until I started listening to the Bible project never realized I’ve barely scratched the surface of what God is trying to communicate through his word. For those looking to take their faith, actions, knowledge to the next level, grab your Bible grab a notebook and buckle up!

Insightful and thought provoking

In the past 6 months I have listened to almost all of the Bible Project Podcasts. The podcasts delve into depth of the Bible and reveal it in a way that everyone can learn from. It has changed how I comprehend the Bible during my study time. Such an incredible resource and I am so thankful to have been introduced to this podcast!

Awesome, enlightening, accessible content

I've been listening to BP for about a month now, making my way through various series. My husband has been listening for even longer and is responsible for getting me hooked. I so appreciate how each episode brings out so many historical, linguistic, and theological details. It's very refreshing (sometimes challenging). And I appreciate how they make what can be sometimes pretty heady stuff feel approachable. I also wanted to give a special shoutout to Episode 200 (The Blood Cries Out). Thanks gents for taking the time to dig in to what the Word says about hard questions of today that *need* to be discussed, and for your own vulnerability in this.

Mind Blown

I know there are A LOT of episodes but if your new to Dr. Tim Mackie go back to God or gods, the series starts in July of 2018. This will help you see the Bible through the eyes of an ancient Israelite. Jon and Tim have an amazing way of teaching you to think, read, understand scripture. So throw out all those traditions, leave all the filters at the door and read the Bible the way it was intended...through the Ruach HaKodesh or the Holy Spirit.

Excellent! Very easy to listen to and understand.

These guys do a great job of explaining what the Bible has to say in a very easy to understand language. I highly recommend to anyone! I will also add that the app they have (the Bible project) is a great way to ready through the Bible, the videos are very well done and help keep you organized.

Renewed my love of Scripture

I’m so thankful I found the Bible Project podcast over 2 years ago. I’ve listened to every episode and I’ve learned so much. I love the way Jon and Tim breakdown scripture. I cannot recommend this podcast enough.

Not what I hoped for

I have seen quite a few bible project videos and I love their level of detail, structure, and context. I listen to podcasts at work and was hoping this would be on the same level. This podcast is disorganized, one of the contributors essentially exists to ask the other to repeat himself. I would like it better if it was just audio from their videos.

Great Background

These messages give some the background and thinking process that goes into the videos that I have been using for a couple years in my bible classes. These guys are more than smart. They are surrendered, and to God goes the glory as they serve His Kingdom by His power. Between this Tim (and Jon) and Tim Keller my life is richly blessed in Jesus!

Essential Podcast!!

Must listen. It doesn’t matter if you’re young or old, new to scripture or well versed, this podcast is even more valuable than the amazing video’s they produce. Here you get the insight into Tim’s approach to scripture and the process he goes through in synthesizing the meta-narrative to be extracted from the passages they’re discussing. The Q and A is also really good. I’ve learned a ton from this podcast and the dialog format fits me very well. I find my own questions and thoughts expressed by Jon!

Keep politics out of it

I’m really disappointed with episode 200 from you guys. I listen to your podcast with the intention to learn about God’s Word, not be informed that I have “privilege”. If that’s your political bend, you’re free to have those views, but I don’t want to hear the Bible purposefully read in a way that is supposed to support political ideas. You guys should keep your politics out of it. Read the Bible for what it says and let it shape you politics, not the other way around.

Bible Project helps you fall back in love with story of Jesus

Tim and John have hacked the way to communicate the story of the Bible to a new generation of Jesus followers. More than being smart or academic, these episodes explain complex biblical concepts through language that is relevant and easy to understand. For me, this podcast has brought Scripture to life over and over again during life’s hardest seasons.

Love it! Around town or long trips

You’d think two Portland guys talking would be excruciating— but no. It’s been a couple of years, long enough to have listened to the majority of the podcasts. Still enthralled. Thank you, Holy Spirit. I have come to really appreciate and rely on Jon to alleviate and clarify the dense, fresh ideas shared by Tim. (A personal comment: don’t bother with a podcast that has a guest speaker. Jon isn’t as a big a player in those and as a result I get lost. I’ve never felt so dumb as trying to listen to one of the guest speaker podcasts. It really showed me how brilliant both Jon and Tim are. And how I hate feeling lost. Good learning experience, but now I avoid the guest speaker ones like the plague. [I tried two. That’s enough!] ;) ) Last comment: why is all this so fresh and new? It brings so many things I’ve learned together and yet is so revelatory. Reading the Bible is so exciting now. I’m seeing the Bible with new eyes. My relationship with God is fresh again. But why? Tim will say, none of these are his own ideas. He will reference other authors and books. And yet... I am just grateful. To Jon for helping me hang in and place the info within my personal tradition and context and to Tim for a new way of seeing that is actually not new. But new to me. Thank you, Father , for changing my life through TBP.
