The Best Science (BS) Medicine Podcast is a weekly presentation where practitioners can get evidence-based drug therapy content that is practical, entertaining and promotes healthy scepticism. In essence, we are the Medication Mythbusters. We present information that is useful and relevant to physicians, pharmacists, nurses, physician assistants and other health professionals, and that can easily be incorporated into day-to-day practice. The podcast is presented by Dr. James McCormack, Professor in the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences at the University of British Columbia and Dr Michael Allan, Associate Professor in the Department of Family Practice at the University of Alberta. topic request please

hi guys LOVE your podcast. helps make me sound smart on rounds with the team.can i ask when or if you will ever address what to me is the huge elephant in the room for Evidenced Based Medicine - TPA!As you know there is a huge divide between the EM and Neurology community but most other doctors just assume that this therapy is well researched and very beneficial. Thanks for all that you do!

Physician Assistant Student

Great podcast. I am a PA student and have listend to every episode. I will be teaching a lecture to the new students next summer about evidence based medicine, all of which I learned from the podcast. I nearly broked out in laughter when a neurologist giving a recent lecture referred to blood pressure as the silent killer.

suggested future topics...

Love, love your podcast & since discovering, have been recommending to pharmacy students/residents/co-workers. I wish more people in U.S. knew about your podcast. I know you said albuminuria is a future on your list. Others that I'd love to hear:1) hypertriglyceridemia -- how to treat & what's real risk of pancreatitis 2) statins & CKD 4-5.Keep up the great work! --Beth, pharmacist, San Diego VA

Still excellent after all these years

I continue to learn something new every time I listen; for example in podcast 148 I found out Dr Mike Allen is an avid Family Guy fan (he tried to claim he only watched "occasionally" the cardinal sign of a Family Guy addiction) . And in the same podcast he made a reference to Homer Simpson. That has to be a first for a medical podcast- two references to prime time animated comedies. Keep up the good work.

Great perspective on rational care

I love this podcast and accompanying site. James and Mike make complex subjects understandable and make me laugh. (with them) As a pharmacist doing critical appraisal for our institution and how to best use our limited resources here in the Public Health Service, I appreciate the help this podcast offers. Thanks guys and keep them coming! I subject our students and residents to these and they usually thank me. Rob BoyleArizona
