Each episode, Pedestrian's resident true crime nuts Josie and Mel bring a different unsolved Australian mystery yarn to the table and share their (often completely cooked) theories on what the f--k happened. From the Beaumont Children to the Lithgow Panther to the Somerton Man, each mystery is weirder than the last.

Very chatty

This podcast was not for me - over 12 minutes of chitchat before presentation of the case. Ladies seem likeable but casual conversation wasn’t what I was looking for.

Zesty!

I absolutely love this podcast! Josie and Mel give listeners the perfect mix of banter and mysteries (and don’t let anyone tell you otherwise, J and M! :). If you feel a little sick of listening to other true crime podcasts that can tend towards dwelling excessively on the violent and grim, but still want something in this genre, I would really recommend AAMH. There’s plenty of true crime, yes, but also mysterious creatures and supernatural encounters in the mix. Listening to this as a non-Australian is also really fun - I’ve only ever heard of three or four of the cases they cover, so it’s always new and interesting. Also, I have to thank this podcast for introducing me to my new favorite adjective - zesty!

It’s like hanging with old friends!

I adore this podcast! It’s my go to when I want sometime light hearted and fun. I love the feeling like I’m hanging out with friends I’ve known for years. If they ever came to America for a live tapping I’d be first in line!! Keep it up ladies!

Good Times!

I find this podcast oddly relaxing and funny. The commentary from the hosts is fricking funny. Maybe it’s because I’ve always wanted to go to Australia and haven’t made it yet but very enjoyable and interesting. Especially the poo in gelato episode. Also, the KFC coleslaw is the best 😀

Recent convert...

I’m absolutely not new to podcasts. I did what pretty much everyone else did. Binge listened to Serial and then couldn’t find enough true crime podcasts to keep me happy. When I found AAMH- I didn’t like it. I actually complained to two of my friends how awful it was. They talk so much about unrelated things. They don’t take it seriously. It’s not what I was looking for. I didn’t listen for a couple months and then recently ran out of things to listen to with all of my travels. I came back and listened again. It was like seeing friends that you love again after a long while and listening to them fill you in on what they’ve been up to. Basically, I love that they don’t take it seriously. I love that they talk to each other about random things for way too long. Today’s Episode with Ben was the best yet. This podcast is the equivalent of lunch with your best friend. You know there’s a story coming but it’s going to take a while to get there and that’s it’s charm. These girls are lovely. I’m listening forever.

Seriously enjoyable chill time

I like to laugh along and just ‘hang’ with these two, they’re so easy to listen to and love the way they chit chat and tell the stories!

My coworkers and neighbors think I’m insane

This podcast is so entertaining. Josie and Mel (I consider them to be my actual friends after listening to 1.5 seasons) are so sincere and genuinely amusing. I find myself laughing out loud at my desk and on my evening walks. I’ve startled people. Truly. I highly recommend listening if you are looking for a light, fun diversion that takes the true crime genre into the realm of comedy, where there is a rightful place for it. I don’t even care about the mouth noises, and I’m the kind of person who cares about mouth noises. I can’t wait for Season 3!

Fun Aussie Stories

I appreciate the laid back style these ladies provide for some crazy and interesting stuff!! I always have wanted to go to Australia...but now there are certain places I would like to visit (that are prob not the fav of most tourists) that have these stories behind them 😊. Keep up the good work ladies! And keep having fun - it’s contagious.

Fun and zesty

This podcast is now my favorite way to start the day. I’m actually sad that I’m all caught up now and will have to wait for episodes. I’m visiting Australia next year (from Washington DC) and might have to stalk these hilarious ladies while I’m there...

Refreshing

I’m really enjoying this podcast! The relaxed approach taken to these stories makes it feel like we are listening to a convo with friends, not just being given facts and figures without any character. Plus, your accents are incredible to this Alabamian’s ears. Thanks and keep it up!

AAMH

You can’t just stick two people in a room and do what Mel & Josie do. It requires personality and chemistry and the chemistry they have is pretty much through the roof. Their mouth noises are always the loveliest.

Not everybody’s mystery podcast

If you come here to listen to a type of podcast like casefile, then this podcast is not for you, if you are looking for a fun funny, talking about wine and cheese- but at the same time, listen to mysteries around Australia and feel like you are with your friends just talking over some cheese and wine then yes this is for you ! It does take a while to get used to the podcast around listening to a second episode I was hooked mind you probably shouldn’t have started with the mystery surrounding a poop 🤦🏻‍♀️but this is a great podcast and it’s definitely worth the listen to so grab some wine or “tea” as they like to hide their wine sometimes in mugs and enjoy this podcast! Definitely have a fan all the way here in Chicago!!

You guys I love you so much

Stop listening to the jerks talking about your mouth sounds. It’s just sexist jerks - got to be - cuz come on it’s just spit in your mouth. Plus I’ve never even heard it. The point is… wait, what’s the point? Yeah right! That you all are great—love the show, love you, goodbye.
