Great Content

Medicine resident who listens to this podcast on the regular. This podcast differs from others in its category because it is entertaining and the format differs significantly from other medical podcasts. I have been listening to this for over a year and it is unique and spectacular. I have recommended this to many residents, students and attendings.

Snarky, sarcastic, smart

Love it. Great for those of us who can’t ever stop thinking about medicine (humans are so much more disgusting than animals ;) Recently discovered this podcast and mainlining it, very enjoyable.

I love Gobbet o' Pus and Puscasts!

I highly recommend this series of podcasts; Dr. Crislip is a delight to listen to. I use his podcasts to get into a good mood to go to sleep. He throughly enjoys life, delights in the puzzles in his job, and has a wonderful wit. What he learns from each podcast is, of course, very different than what I learn. But, we both learn something. My command of infectious diseases is improving markedly because of his podcasts.Ruth Ann Bertsch MD, PhD, FACP

A terrific and informative podcast

A terrific and informative podcast from an educator and humorist that works as a ID doc in Oregon. It is not easy to make ID diagnostics and treatment fun and entertaining. Mark Crislip is the best. My focus is also ID. Occasionally I need to give a clinical presentation and this podcast always provides the perfect clinical information. Being from Seattle, I must admit that the single area where Mark Crislip is wrong is in the comparisons of Seattle to Portland. Seattle is the best place in the Pacific Northwest (but anyone wanting move to the Northwest, I suggest Portland). I have asked all my staff to listen to Gobbet o’ Pus and included some friends in the introduction to Mark Crislip. This is the best medical podcast that I am aware. I started at #906 and am working backwards, I am at about 460 now. When I have heard them all I will probably listen again. I also enjoy the app (great resource when you need to know that Ceftaroline is a fifth-generation cephalosporin) and not earlier. Puswhisperer II is fun and a good read. It would be good to have titles on the podcasts that describe the indication, for example, which podcasts deal with pneumocystis? Are the podcasts searchable?

Where have you been all my life?

(Apparently Portland, Oregon.)Both hilarious and very informative. See, young ones? This is why you wash your hands... and stay away from public pools. In fact, maybe I should just give everyone a bleach shower before they enter my house...Edit: Tempted to remove a star; our glorious narrator is a ducks fan.

Amusing for laymen, too!

Interested laymen, this will be comprehensible to you, too. I love his wit and snark, and agree that animals don't belong in the hospital, which has gotten me in arguments before. Then I point to the citations he provided, and we're all set. Thanks again!
